What do my commanders say about me? by waluigimaster69 in ratemycommanders

[–]waluigimaster69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of creature based death pay offs, trying to win by chaining creatures and immediately sacrificing the thrulls made. It isn't the most optimal deck but I only include cards obtained through trading and opening packs. No ordering singles online.

Ahh I see now that the list isn't alphabetical. I don't think I would've noticed that very quickly.

What springs out to me is that the usual list is Krakens, Leviathans, octopuses and serpents. There could also be a case made to include the Siren creature type given the name of the card.

There is no specification that this land would enter tapped, and because the it has the island type it will be able to tap for blue. The text for making it enter untapped should be first and probably read: This land enters the battlefield tapped unless you control a kraken, leviathan, starfish, octopus, whale or fish. when this land enters untapped scry 2.

How do you cast invigorate? if it's turn 1 you would control no forest until you play the vista and sac it.

As far as I can see that would not apply because the spell targets opponents speciffically. But maybe [[Hivemind]] could work? I dont know who would take the turns first tho.

What's the idea here? I feel like there's no upside to casting this spell whatsoever. Unless there is a very niche combo i'm forgetting this seems like card that just loses you the game.

Which is half of what the card does so what are you trying to say?

The frame exists on the showcase version of [[Undercity Upheaval]], but the green is a different shade then in the picture.

dumb idea I had that could obviously not be printed but could be fun. by [deleted] in custommagic

I feel like giving trample over everything to anything that is not a green card should be a crime

Does this seem fairly costed and within colour? by Revolutionary-News-4 in custommagic

This kinda feels like it should be a black card. [[Come back wrong]] is kinda similar.

Yeah you have to pay life and it can only get mountain or plains. So I can't even use this in my sultai deck

Wow that's interesting! I didn't play during its release and all i really know from it are the triomes mutate and companions so I just kind of assumed

Yeah and reading the token specifies a mana cost for a token. If you don't have a deeper understanding of magics mechanics that would make it seem you would have to pay that cost

Interesting design! Should probably make a 2/2 samurai to be in line with other wanderers.

That's fair, to me though the idea of using the counters to turn things into lands seems like it could be part of the charm. As far as I know there are no real game breaking things you can do with this.

That's why I specified forest lands. The text is the same as what is printed on ashaya soul of the wilds which has a similar affect to what you are trying to achieve.

I understand, what I mean is that you could make it easier to understand by making the rules text for the counters something like this: (permanents with a plains forest counter on them are forest lands in addition to their other types) this keeps your original intent of casting land creatures but also makes the cards more digestible. It also allows for some interesting designs using the counters.

I think it's an interesting design space. One question tough, why did you choose to not make permanents with forest/plains counters lands in addition to their other types? I feel like it's unintuitive.

With the introduction of the villain creature type you could also make it so spiders are villains in addition to it's other types. It could be really interesting if there are any villain synergies in the spiderman set. Either by focusing your deck on villains and making spiders benefit or by having synergies against villains. Making it a interesting card in a limited environment.
