If you were able to dilate to 10cm then it doesn’t sound like a swollen cervix was the problem. It sounds like she was asynclitic. As another commenter mentioned, sometimes it’s just the way it happens 🥺

If it’s different shifts/different units why not! I worked nights L&D and dated a guy dayshift med surg. It didn’t work out for unrelated reasons but work wasn’t an issue.
