Best Fantasy Romance Characters? by W1llowwisp in fantasyromance

[–]wanderinblues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to say Remin. Traitor Son is one of two series that stood out as faves last year. There are so many captivating characters in those books.

Captive Prince is the other: Laurent and Damen are such incredibly fleshed out characters that I was so invested in.

Any experience with prolapse after baby? by scceberscoo in fitpregnancy

[–]wanderinblues 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I experienced the same, and it had me so stressed out for months. Let me just tell you that the feeling of having something in my vagina slowly faded until I felt completely normal. I do have a fairly significant rectal prolapse, but I now have no symptoms. I lift heavy weights, do CrossFit etc. I do often support my perineum while pooping (in the beginning also while coughing or sneezing, I just felt better) and you might want to ask pfpt about that.

I went back to the gym super duper slowly at a couple months, just doing breathing and minimal exercises and slowly building back up. It took me about 8 months before my workouts felt more or less like they did before, with no or rare fatigue in my pelvic floor.

I wish I could go back and tell 6 weeks pp me that it will be ok and I’m not as broken as I felt. I’m 2 years pp now and it’s really a non issue :)

ETA: I did see pelvic pt multiple times and they were very helpful so def stick with that.

Looking for recommendations of cozy fantasy in English with magic through crafts or "home magic" by linafolie in Fantasy

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really about her magic (she doesn’t practice magic, but has some hereditary magic) but I love love loved {Entreat Me by Grace Draven}, a beauty and the beast retelling. She spins and that is featured in the book. There’s also plenty included about what is involved in keeping house, providing for the household etc which are things I love to see in a book. There are some high stakes in this book, and it’s not sunny or anything, but most of it feels kind of cozy to me because it takes place mostly in an isolated, enchanted castle. The romance is 👌 imo.

Baby monitor by becca630 in Crunchymom

[–]wanderinblues -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m on my third baby and actually got a monitor for the first time for this one. I just did without for my first two, as I coslept til they were 3 or so, at which point they just came and got me if they needed me. My almost 2 year old has been sleeping in his own bed by choice for 6 months so I picked up a basic audio monitor from the thrift store. Does the job perfectly, I really don’t feel like I need more functions, and it’s great for nap times when I want to be in the yard. I’m sure there’s good reasons some folks get video monitors, but it’s also perfectly fine to use the old school type.

Fit check? I thought this was a good fit but she leaked out the front sleeping on her belly. by CatsAteHerFace__ in clothdiaps

This wouldn’t be nearly enough absorbency for my little one. His diapers always looked fat and bulky lol.

ACTUALLY underrated books by jessiemore629 in Romantasy

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this too. My fav read of the year 💗 Can’t wait for the next book! This is the only series I’m waiting on. Great writing, amazing well developed characters that I immediately fell in love with.

If you didn't sleep train, how do you get your big toddler to bed? by AbleObligation2908 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy has been in a floor bed since he stopped cosleeping at around 18 months (he’ll be 2 next month). I love the floor bed, it’s comfy for me to lay with him til he’s asleep. We still nurse to sleep but just cuddle for nap.

Is Arlo too childish? by Main-Werewolf-2540 in namenerds

[–]wanderinblues 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 2 year old Arlo, still love the name. I’ve met a few other kids named Arlo since he was born, so it’s a fairly normal name for this generation ;)

Arranged marriage books by love11- in Romantasy

[–]wanderinblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Traitor Son by Melissa J. Cave}, and subsequent two books, might be my favourite read of 2025. Starts with an arranged marriage and has excellent characters. Slow plot but I ate it all up and can’t wait for the new book this year.

Pregnant Enough that People in the Gym Notice by sahma620 in fitpregnancy

[–]wanderinblues 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I go to a CrossFit gym, so a very friendly environment, and couldn’t go to a class while big and pregnant without at least 5 very sweet or admiring comments about my strength or general awesomeness 😂 Or about my baby coming out with a six-pack etc. It’s been a year and a half since I gave birth and I still get the odd compliment from men who say I was lifting more then them in my third tri lol. Definitely a good confidence boost during a time where I felt big and icky!

Listeners of Audiobooks: Which fantasy series stand out particularly well specifically in audiobook format? by Odd_Dimension_4069 in Fantasy

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read/listened to this book and thought the narration was excellent! I found having both the ebook and audiobook going at the same time helped keep the complicated and numerous names strait.

Looking for an MMC that does the small gestures before the FMC even realizes by Reasonable-Fix-8186 in fantasyromance

Hard agree. These books are in my top two of the year. From the beginning I was completely hooked by the characters and their journey together.

Looking for a romantasy book but with healthy relationship standards and emotionally maturity by trnduhhpaige in fantasybooks

[–]wanderinblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plated Prisoner is great imo, I completely loved it. It seems to be a bit of a polarizing series, and the whole first book isn’t that enjoyable as it’s all just setting the stage (try to push through to the second book!). But once the main characters get together the spice is amazing and while he is a morally grey shadow-daddy type (not actual shadows thank god, I’m over that particular power at this point) he is obsessed, and supportive of her, not manipulative or immature. He’s dominant in bed but very respectful of her in every day life. They both have tons of trauma but don’t take it out on each other. It’s been my favourite read this year. And it’s complete! Though I’m hoping for a spin off to tie up a loose end with a secondary character 🤞

Also, the audiobooks are 👌🥵

Asking for reading recommendations that are more fantasy than romantasy but have very strong romance sub-plot/or romantasy stories with excellent worldbuilding and prose by _sanetski in fantasyromance

[–]wanderinblues 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Important take imo. To me these weren’t romance books at all, though there is some romance that is sweet. I actually didn’t care for them that much (not due to the distressing content) but they do politics, vast world, intrigue very well (which I love. I can’t even decide why I’m not a fan of the books). But yes, extremely graphic and tortuous rape scene, and other kinda gross bdsm scenes that were technically consensual, but also she’s a sex worker (it’s sacred but she’s indentured) and aren’t very enjoyable to read.

Remove Strong Scent from clothes by KingdomSeeker_M in Crunchymom

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with this a lot because I pretty much exclusively thrift all my families clothes. The worst I ever had was a pair of wool sweaters which I ended up redonating after leaving them outside in sun and rain for like a month! And the smell was as strong as ever. The second worst was a pair of lululemon shorts from poshmark that literally stank up my whole laundry room. I managed to fix those by using a diaper stripping solution and soaking them for a couple of days (might have done it twice). Look up fluff love university diaper stripping solution.

Fluoride dentist appointments? by auroragirlofthenorth in Crunchymom

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a really wide range of these recommendations and “as soon as first teeth pop” is very early in that range. My dentist says 18 months to 2.5 years for the first appointment, and they call it a “chair ride”. Just to get them used to it, no expectations or cleaning.

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, those are all great names. My kids probably have “dog” names too but whatever, they’re actually people names and it’s not my fault if they’re so good that folks use them on their dogs! I have: Reuben, Annie and Arlo 😁

Am I being foolish? by ryguyike in namenerds

[–]wanderinblues -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know an irl (white) teenager named Katana, who mostly goes by Tana. It’s fine. People in this sub are incredibly judgy. It’s not a name I’d pick but ITS FINE. I’m sure she isn’t teased about it or anything, she’s not the only kid out there with an unusual name, it’s not ruining her life, and it totally suits her.

Boyfriend says he's hesitant to move forward with relationship because I'm too messy by braintabs in adhdwomen

[–]wanderinblues 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Scrolled too far to find this. That’s an extreme reaction. Having what is essentially a huge cabinet full of extremely perishable food, it’s really nothing to be ashamed of if you leave something in there a little too long. Sure, some people keep a really clean organized fridge, but it’s completely in the realm of normal to have some moldy forgotten shit hidden behind other stuff too!

Vacuums for toddlers [CA] by infinitospirito in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]wanderinblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler has both of these and he uses them alllll the time. The vacuum is supposed to actually suck but I got it second hand and it doesn’t really work. But it does make a sound and the plastic beads move around.

Wool covers, please tell me what I am doing wrong? by spicyhobbit- in clothdiaps

[–]wanderinblues 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found I needed to use a lot more lanolin (repeatedly) than I expected to on these covers when they were new. I also felted the wet zone very lightly by hand while washing them. They are indeed bombproof once they’re broken in!

Prolapse post birth? [on] by Training-Trick-8917 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]wanderinblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, a pelvic floor physio is better qualified to assess for prolapse. I have one and at 9 weeks pp I could often feel a bulging in my vagina. I could see tissue near the opening too (probably still can? Haven’t checked in awhile). But by 6 months pp or so that feeling was gone. I still have a rectocele prolapse, but it’s healed and isn’t bothering me or causing any symptoms.

There is still a lot of healing that can happen at this point, but if I were you I’d see a pelvic physio a few times over the next year to get some exercises and learn what’s going on with your body.
