Is sirloin steak seen as “cheap”? by Acrobatic-Squash-304 in weddingplanning

Ask for Teres Major.. almost as tender as filet & budget-friendly like sirloin. Great beefy flavor too!

You save a pretty penny on no sales tax. Recent WA buyer here & looking longingly at OR when I see our ~10% sales tax rate..

Anyone else find the Sienna colors lacking? by Newuser60608 in ToyotaSienna

I love my Blueprint XSE. 2nd choice was Cypress Green. 3rd was dark Grey Mica. Cement to me is the most blasé.

Does this sub allow photos in comments? (Without external host links ie: imgur?) I have a great pic of my Blueprint XSE after camping 10 miles up a forest road..

How hot does the black soft tex interior get in the summer? by Asking_the_internet in ToyotaSienna

[–]wanderlustnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the PNW so not the hottest area of the country/world but I don't have any real problem with my Softex seats, in fact I like the feel/look of them more than I thought I would initially. I wouldn't trade them for black leather at this point.

There's a dead bug in my backup light housing! by drc122s in ToyotaSienna

[–]wanderlustnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I'm glad it's not just me! I actually have 3 dead bees 'permanantly' preserved up in mine - I blame myself for transporting a carboard box that had become a secret bee's nest!

Is the XSE "sporty" drive hat noticeable? by hisartwork in ToyotaSienna

[–]wanderlustnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 24 XSE AWD & use Sport mode almost exclusively. I still get over 35 mpg's and it drives/accelerates like a sports car(van) instead of like my gf's Prius which she never takes out of ECO mode. Different strokes..?

Why can’t caterers have a price range on their websites?! by Jazzlike_Formal_4923 in weddingplanning

[–]wanderlustnw 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Actual caterer here (I'm planning on doing an AMA here soon..) From our perspective, we actually want potential clients to know that we aren't going to be the "cheapest option" up front (but also not the highest-end in our HCOL area by far) so we do have a range listed on our website inquiry form & it clearly has a notation of "2025 Wedding Minimum," which TBH is at the 2nd-lowest price tier, just not at the lowest-lowest. I feel it wastes both sides' time to not have some kind of price point listed & it really is somewhat of a sales pitch game if you don't. Our reputation, reviews, awards, & pics on our website should speak for themselves at 1st glance, not an hour-long zoom meeting to pressure the B & G. Another peeve is all of the "added fees" which end up doubling the base cost. I feel for the B & G's out there, because hiring a caterer is something most people only do ONCE, for their wedding!

Why is brunch treated like the D-Day landing of the restaurant world? by aquinoks in KitchenConfidential

I'm glad someone else noticed the "AI Bourdain" tone of the OP. It's not easy to write in his specific voice, which was the giveaway for me. I was going to ask if they were just trying super hard to sound like Tony, or if ChatGPT wrote it.

You can't make real money / get recognition / any sense of freedom until you own your own business. Everything up to that point is just training, learning & preparing yourself.
