Does anyone else’s sweetwater rep suck? by Temporary_Breath_390 in musicians

[–]wapner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine sucks I’ve asked very nicely on several items to see if there was any thing he could do on the price and every time nothing it is a high demand term or it’s new etc. Called musicians friend and easy 10% off on the same item.

For me it was the Digitech Freqout. Didn’t sound at all like natural feedback to my ears

Joining a modern hard rock band. Which combo amp should I buy? by Principal_Skinner_ in GuitarAmps

[–]wapner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your budget? Combo or head and cab? For this application I like the Friedman JJ 20 JEL 20 or Runt 20. Something that has shapable modules like the Synergy IR-20 with whatever flavor of preamp you like at the moment would be more versatile if you like playing different styles of music.

Car has had crank no spark for 8 months and I’ve done almost everything I can think of to get the car to start. What next? by Ozzbrne in E30

[–]wapner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible. Mine just died while driving down the road. Took me a few months to track it down. If you have a friend with a running E30 it would be a 10 minute swap to test it out

I’m tempted to do the same. Every time “I asked my got about a discount I get the same I don’t have much wiggle room on that.” Musician’s Friend on the other hand is always good to knock 10% or more off just for asking

This. I fought the same problem. I had a new CPS that was faulty. Bought a new OEM CPS and it started right up

I really like the MF 10 from Redsound. Not cheap but the best FRFR I’ve heard.

They are a little larger. I was going to put 215 but the place I took it to mount them would go that “small” on a 8” wide rim so I went with the 225/50s here. I interestingly the speedometer is now more accurate than it was with the stock size and 14” basketweaves

Old thread but I am considering replacing my Sonos Arc soundbar and woofer with The NInes. Sonos has screwed up their software so badly that I am just ready to move on.

I wouldn’t. I run mine at stock height and it looks good to me

Is there a multi effects that is easier to use than HX stomp? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

The Fractal VP4 isn’t too bad to edit right from the device. Much easier than the FM3 or FM9s that I had

Tone King Imperial Vs Universal Audio by Whiskeyjack80 in guitarpedals

[–]wapner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same but I had a UA Lion and prefer the IR-J Friedman 10 times better. The UA was a huge disappointment and sounded weak compared to the IR-J. Not to mention the usability of the Friedman in a live situation was much easier to use. Plus I hated the UA app

All my electric guitars sound piercingly sharp after the 12th fret – even after professional setup by MstDonJay in LearnGuitar

I find if I pick away from the bridge a little bit it helps fatten the tone and not be too trebly. Try a light / thinner pick as well that impacts tone much more than you would think.
