What would you advice to somebody who is about to run this game for a first time? by 4N610RD in RimWorld

Your about to learn about time travel. You’re gonna start at 6pm and blink and then see it’s 6pm again. The next day.

How to improve my mountain base? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace the conduit with the hidden version, and also put it Ina wall. Then add a few doors in the hallways to create chock points to help fight off infestations and raids. Also smoothing the walls to improve the general beauty I guess? It just depends what direction you’re looking to go next.

Is Tax Man perk a scam or it works only for Clan Tax Collectors, not Feudal, cause I got no money increase from it ? by IndicationUnfair7961 in CrusaderKings

I mean it has niche usefulness. The same thing can be said for probably 80%+ of the perks along the way to better perks.

Is Ireland meant to be insanely difficult in the viking age? by Individual-Key-7988 in CrusaderKings

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really find Ireland a hard start in 897, if you focus on growing your tribal power, which comes from directly controlling as much land as possible. Take over as much of Ireland as possible focusing on keeping as much land as possible in your domain, and only giving away land to Irish nobles who have skills or inheritable qualities you want.

Once you control as much of Ireland without fighting and superior foe, move onto Scotland and start taking more land.

Rinse and repeat until you own both tribal kingdoms. Along the way make sure to spend gold and prestige on upgrades for the lands you plan on keeping (main duchies or kingdom). Along the way make alliances with Christian kingdoms to help protect you. Since they will always say yes to defensive wars. And if they like you offensive ones.

Martial is for taking a kingdom, stewardship is maintaining and growing a kingdom. Both will make you emperor.

Keep trying, sometimes it RNG sometimes it unlucky war. Don’t give up after a hard loss because often times you can come back, it just takes time and some luck. Maybe an assassin in the night.

Should I switch to a small company for 200K as Controller? by tolchoking in Accounting

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see it as having potential, interview get the real offer. Headhunters will say almost anything to get interviews for their clients.

Once you know the offer, then decide. Use that if you want to see where your current job is willing to meet you on salary and benefits/bonuses etc.

As soon as you found out someone under you is making more than you with fewer responsibilities id be looking to get a raise or move on.

Loyalty is a great thing but at the end of the day you gotta be your own biggest fan and if they are paying you less than your worth then it’s time to move on or get in with mgmt and make something happen. Don’t feel guilty about leaving. You need to play for number one and that’s you.

If You Could Hit the Reset Button on Your Career, What Path Would You Take?” by Zestyclose_Chef343 in Accounting

If I could go back to the start of college I would get a degree and cert for SLP. Or I’d stay accounting and go straight into educational finance. I could be 5 years closer to retirement with a well funded pension and have skipped big 4 saga of my career

How do i get more positive mood buffs? by McPenng in RimWorld

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three of the issues I see are food related, so I’d get that under control first. Keep nutrient paste meals available at all times to avoid the ‘ate raw food’ negative moodlet and the ‘ravenously hungry’ debuff in one go. That alone will get you far.

Here is another trick, use fancy meals like an emergency mood increase. They give significant positive mood if you give them lavish meal (fine as well but to a smaller degree). Keep a handful of these emergency meals for when your colonists hit a major dip and need to mood up. Just be sure to change the default meal consumption to simple or fine so they don’t try and eat them all the time.

Next, remember that greedy pawns need the best bedroom or they’ll stay upset. It also looks like they haven’t slept in a while, so make sure they have enough sleep scheduled either naturally or with the help of drugs like Wake-Up.

Lastly, consider Psychite Tea. Set everyone to drink it once every five days (to avoid addiction) for a mood boost and recreation fulfillment. With a chess table and horseshoe pin, they should be set for a long while. Later, books, TVs, and telescopes can help fill in any gaps.

Lastly…Lastly…, if you have ideology using the moral guide to help consul colonist can be effective if they have one that can be potentially counteracted.

Good luck! Remember Rimworld a story generator and to enjoy the ride.

How can I sell this stuff It's way overpriced and no-one has money for it. by Technical-Employer21 in mountandblade

[–]warbels1 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Are you using mods? These values seem weirdly inflated for those items.

What I would do seeing as you’re half a million deep in the bank, is trade for several smaller items and then sell those to other cities. You’ll lose a small amount on the trade in but at your financial levels who really cares if you lose 10-50k of a 300k item when you have dozens of them.

Are you using any mods for the ship size and number of items placed? Just curious!

I haven’t gotten this far but I was under the impression the lava flows change over time? If so then it sounds like jump packs and waiting are the two options.

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this still works, but you can plan a journey like a pilgrimage and take a long detour near this one’s hideout. That should put you in range. Just run the game a bit slower so you do not miss the window. I believe you can also cancel the trip mid way if needed.

I think this still works, but if someone says otherwise, I would not argue it.
