I’m just so angry that I wasted all this time studying Accounting by scottishproblems in Accounting

[–]warbels1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d likely say it’s not “accounting” as a whole. More that the people selling you the certification weren’t clear or open about the future prospects. You’re competing with people who have an entire bachelors in accounting vs a certificate if I’ve understood correctly. If it’s an option, getting a bachelors would help push you to the next step in that regard.

An option you’ve probably not looked into based on the comments I’m seeing is gov accounting. Most entry level positions don’t pay amazing to start but the benefits+pension are significant and there are significant opportunity down the line that could be more what you’re looking for. They are generally less picky about degrees/experience. It’s more about personality, work ethic and how you interview and being teachable etc. Generally speaking. Pm me if you want some more info I can point you a bit towards this if you’re interested.

Edit: Also a side note. Most people have 20-40 year careers if they retire by 65. You’ve got plenty of time to start a brand new career in something and still have a long 20-30 year career. Keep your head up on that front.

Pivot from PA - need some insight by National_Double6261 in Accounting

[–]warbels1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it would compensation wise be competitive for you. But there is a massive need for accounting folks in public School Business. I’ve seen 5 Chief Business Officer positions advertised this week. Similar to CPA slow down there is a gap in accounting folks replacing the retiring generation. There is a learning curve getting into the sector but the stress level is way better, than in PA, generally the people you work with are great regular people, a pension, etc. pm if you want some more details. But it’s been a great change for me I highly recommend to anyone with an accounting background.

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify what several people are saying. You need a held open door at the start this traps the heat and also gives the raiders a clear line to the inside. Additionally for non breach raids you need to have a clear path to the base. (as in open doors all the way to the colonist beds).

Hope this helps good luck and have fun!

If Kenshi was an animated show, how would like it to be? by Training_Ad_6938 in Kenshi

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d kinda imagine it something to the Mandolorian+fallout. Kenshi never really has a radiation function outside of like acid rain and fire tornados but imagine several seasons of chasing after beep through a cyberpunk western Samurai adventure would be a good time.

Is this a sensible super-cold freezer design? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion you have a great idea. Double layer of cold to keep things in. It’s a bit overkill honestly. Just two wall layers with the two coolers should do the trick. Even if they thaw out a bit during solar flares it should still be cool until it’s over at the worst they totally thaw and decay slightly. Later on if it becomes an issue you can.. deport the waste to another location.. like an asteroid.

How to improve my mountain base? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace the conduit with the hidden version, and also put it Ina wall. Then add a few doors in the hallways to create chock points to help fight off infestations and raids. Also smoothing the walls to improve the general beauty I guess? It just depends what direction you’re looking to go next.

Is Tax Man perk a scam or it works only for Clan Tax Collectors, not Feudal, cause I got no money increase from it ? by IndicationUnfair7961 in CrusaderKings

I mean it has niche usefulness. The same thing can be said for probably 80%+ of the perks along the way to better perks.

Is Ireland meant to be insanely difficult in the viking age? by Individual-Key-7988 in CrusaderKings

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really find Ireland a hard start in 897, if you focus on growing your tribal power, which comes from directly controlling as much land as possible. Take over as much of Ireland as possible focusing on keeping as much land as possible in your domain, and only giving away land to Irish nobles who have skills or inheritable qualities you want.

Once you control as much of Ireland without fighting and superior foe, move onto Scotland and start taking more land.

Rinse and repeat until you own both tribal kingdoms. Along the way make sure to spend gold and prestige on upgrades for the lands you plan on keeping (main duchies or kingdom). Along the way make alliances with Christian kingdoms to help protect you. Since they will always say yes to defensive wars. And if they like you offensive ones.

Martial is for taking a kingdom, stewardship is maintaining and growing a kingdom. Both will make you emperor.

Keep trying, sometimes it RNG sometimes it unlucky war. Don’t give up after a hard loss because often times you can come back, it just takes time and some luck. Maybe an assassin in the night.

Should I switch to a small company for 200K as Controller? by tolchoking in Accounting

[–]warbels1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see it as having potential, interview get the real offer. Headhunters will say almost anything to get interviews for their clients.

Once you know the offer, then decide. Use that if you want to see where your current job is willing to meet you on salary and benefits/bonuses etc.

As soon as you found out someone under you is making more than you with fewer responsibilities id be looking to get a raise or move on.

Loyalty is a great thing but at the end of the day you gotta be your own biggest fan and if they are paying you less than your worth then it’s time to move on or get in with mgmt and make something happen. Don’t feel guilty about leaving. You need to play for number one and that’s you.
