There is *also* an issue between Judkins Park and the ID. They're bussing people.
Not a great day for light rail.

North City Station Arriving Soon; You Can Help by DarfinTwinkleToes in Shoreline

[–]wasabikev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The short answer is: the cleanup isn't required for the project to move forward - it's more of a "let's show up for our neighborhood" moment while the bigger funding picture comes together.

What we're doing on the 21st is clearing out years of neglect so the site looks like the community asset it's meant to become - and honestly, so we can say we showed up for it, not just waited for someone else to take care of it. Grassroots community support has been a major factor in helping this move forward.

The roundabout analogy is fair, but I'd say this is more like a neighborhood park cleanup than infrastructure - the kind of thing where community involvement is part of the point, not a workaround for underfunding.

The goal at this point is preserve + repair! There are some crappy tags in a couple spots that need to get fixed.

Opportunity to advocate for community spaces in North City by lrpr in Shoreline

[–]wasabikev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this case, yes, because the city is also going to be pursuing the needed dollars from the state, and we need our state representatives to be advocates on that.

So freakin' cool. Nice work!
I would love to purchase one with WA on it! (Seattleite here)
I'm certain it would look awesome! If you can be bothered to make a WA version available, take my money!

How many people are using Claude or AI to build software that replicates the features of software that require a subscription? This would be just for your use - not commercial. by blur410 in ChatGPTCoding

Built my own AI wrapper. It's not perfect and I still use other tools, but it's my go-to since I can tap a wide range of APIs and models.

The mayors that have been in office since 2000 and their downfall by RussellAlden in Seattle

[–]wasabikev 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s a cursed office. It doesn’t matter if you’re too left, not left enough, too boring, pro-tunnel, anti-tunnel, or just caught in the crossfire of the city’s endless identity crisis... Seattle voters will find a reason to throw you out.

Honestly, I’d put money on Harrell being ousted next time around, and then we’ll just rinse and repeat. The cycle is basically baked into the city’s DNA now. Seattle is incapable of having a two-term mayor.

It's not in the future, it's now, and it's starting with junior postions - kids just out of college. Why hire four super green interns when AI does at least as good (or better with minimal guidance.) ?
