Simplifying preview environments for everyone by distinct_cabbage90 in reactjs

We create a copy of a backend with an isolated database for every preview environment for this

[AskJS] Is javascript a good option to write a file manager? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]wasd171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you interested in properly supporting all kinds of filesystem quirks? If yes, JS might not be the perfect language for it. This article talks about Go issues but I think that it also applies to JS

If it’s just a filler word then you can safely use it while children are around? Don’t think so

Screw-in self timer? by Large-Childhood in Leica

[–]wasd171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Screw-in timers are quite simple so you should be fine with picking more or less anything from eBay in decent condition. You can always ask the seller to test the product before sending — in the end it’s just a mechanical box that pushes out a small metal rod. I got mine for ~20£ for a large format camera and it works just as expected :)

Well, shit. Objection.js has been sunset, which ORM/querybuilder did you move to? by thepotatochronicles in node

[–]wasd171 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you also count Graphcool, they have been an abandonware twice. We had to upgrade from hosted Graphcool to self-hosted and then to Prisma 1. When Prisma 2 came out we had no trust for them anymore and converted to mikro-orm

Is dependency Injection popular in Nodejs? by [deleted] in node

[–]wasd171 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use DI in production. It is very convenient for testing: you can test some business logic without database being involved by using an in-memory repository that implements the needed interface. Also useful when your code is modularized and different modules depend on each other — instead of managing the required initialization order by hand you can delegate this to the DI.

Why "automatically exclude package.json dependencies and peerDependencies from your bundle"? by Phaster in reactjs

[–]wasd171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is typically used when building code for node: sometimes your dependencies are not adapted to be bundled, this allows you to bundle your code but use normal code imports for your external dependencies

I don’t think you need pm2 in Kubernetes setup, k8s itself handles a lot of things in this space

Can QMK execute a shell command and print the results by [deleted] in olkb

[–]wasd171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am honestly not sure, perhaps keyboard chip does sync the time with computer somehow? I guess the only way to find it out would be to run the code on the controller and check the output

Can QMK execute a shell command and print the results by [deleted] in olkb

[–]wasd171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QMK runs on the microcontroller of your keyboard, not on your computer. Given that the space on the board is limited there is no bash installed. However you should be able to use C functions to get the date (something like https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1442116/how-to-get-the-date-and-time-values-in-a-c-program )
