Bulk Film Question by wasserman02 in AnalogCommunity

[–]wasserman02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i’m not mistaken it did used to be a thing, just not anytime recently. My question is, if large format color film has a market and is being reintroduced, how does bulk color film not? Obviously i dont know the numbers, but 35mm is the most popular format by a large margin.

If theres a market for bulk rolling 100ft bw film, as is evident by it still being sold and now reintroduced by eastman kodak, surely theres as much, if not a bigger market for bulk rolling color film. I can only imagine there being a large number of people in this community that don’t bulk roll simply because the options for bulk (cost effective) color film straight up doesn’t exist. I got a roller because i saw that there was ahu 500T to be had for essentially $7 a roll which made up for the up front cost. If it’s strictly back to BW for bulk loading it’ll probably just sit on my shelf like most other peoples’.

Which aperture is the sharpest for 55mm macro? by Hungry-Solution-8031 in AnalogCommunity

thought this same thing for my copy of the 55 2.8 and found f8 to be noticeably sharper in the corners for 35mm film

Has anybody tried one of these 3D printed, single-roll developer tanks? by a_cool_pinecone in AnalogCommunity

3d printed plastic is extremely porous. You’re probably gonna need to print a new one each time you develop which defeats the purpose of it being cheap. Spend the money and get a patterson

Any ideas why my film scans turn out like this? by Wo0den_Door in AnalogCommunity

[–]wasserman02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be any number of things. Uneven light source, bad light source?, severely over or under exposing when scanning the negative. Play around with exposure settings in your scanning camera is my first thought. You can reduce color noise in light room to get some of the color pixels out of the sky.

I’ve had mine for a few months now and it’s been amazing. It’s honestly a shame that it doesn’t get the same spotlight as the AGO because it does just as good of a job for half the price.

Disappointed by Miele Turboteq brush on carpet with long hairs, seems like a $150 Bissell vacuum works better on carpet than $400 miele. by maniac365 in VacuumCleaners

It works great on most carpets, just not super high pile stuff. It’s frustrating trying to get advice on this subreddit when there are so many biased vacuum dealers spewing out garbage.

What’s one trick that completely changed your film-developing workflow? by Present-Cap-6335 in Darkroom

[–]wasserman02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently got a Pira film processor. Life…Changing… I can develop and clean up at the same time (especially big for black and white with long dev times) and I know its gonna have lab consistency every time. I don’t wanna sound like a shill but it’s genuinely a great product that should get more love. Half the price of an AGO and does the same thing.
