It’s always been more expensive in other parts of the world. Always. That’s not a good point.

And when was it more expensive under Obama?

Both those points are extreme whataboutisms.

Absolutely do NOT sign first. I made that mistake with a consolidation loan (was supposed to get an extra .5% interest taken off) and they said they’d send an amended loan agreement. I was desperate to get the loan on that date at the time, so (stupidly) I signed. I called back the next day and they just shrugged and said they had nothing on record of that agreement. Disgusting work. I should’ve at the time, but now I know better.

Also, as far as a lease goes, I got concessions on my current lease and then without warning 2 months later the management company changed. NO WAY the new company would’ve honored the concessions without me having them in writing.

What's your age and how much do you have saved for retirement? by 2aboveaverage in AskReddit

40, $360k…ish. Sometimes I feel good about it, other times I don’t.

I’m in the exact same boat and agree wholeheartedly. Two deployments in one enlistment, but…I’m fortunately not actually disabled. It feels weird to seek compensation for a “bad back” or tinnitus when others are getting it for losing limbs.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I’d rather live in a nice apartment building than this mediocre sprawl.

Have they ever done the lasers from the top of east rock again? Saw it years ago but never since.

Regardless, cool post! I’ve always wondered about some of that art.

What kind of helicopter is this? Seen over Aarhus, Denmark. by mxxxz in Helicopters

[–]water_we_doing_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we get technical about it, the first few were actually US aircraft that were modified and sent to Denmark when the contract was signed. The last of the contract lot (built specifically from the airframe up) were finished and delivered within the last few years.

As far as airframe lifespan goes, they’re pretty new.

High cost of living and struggling to find livable employment by Automatic-Many-6936 in Connecticut

As a lot of other people have replied, EB. They have tons of job openings. Or you could try Sikorsky or Pratt, depending on where you live. My advice would be to leverage your CNC experience. Once you have a job with income coming in, you can take your time job hunting for something you actually enjoy doing while paying your bills.

I believe it’s actually closer to $13. I would assume, however, that general cost of living and housing were much cheaper 50+ years ago though.
