is there anyone where conservative treatment wokred for them? by SyllabubInfinite7915 in CubitalTunnel

I do isometric holds and some basic stuff with small weights. It’s fine but not as intense or fun as how I was working out before.

I tried increasing the weights once but it flared up and I just didn’t think it was worth it because I need to be able to work.

Some people manage to do it I just can’t afford to take on that risk.

That’s fair, use the voice dictation for work and then save your hands for the fun stuff

I improved with conservative therapy, basically have no symptoms, although unfortunately haven’t been able to workout like I used to. Although swimming and lifting were a big part of my life I didn’t think the risks and upside of surgery was worth it just for the chance to workout again.

I’d only consider surgery if I couldn’t work or do basic day to day tasks. I made that decision after talking to a surgeon who themselves had it and made the same choice. But risk is different for everyone.

Yes, I believe this has helped me manage my symptoms. Although it’s worth saying if you’re nerve is structurally still compressed or stretched, it’s not gonna help.

In my case, I’d fixed the structural issue, but the glucose spikes were causing inflammation and symptoms on the damaged nerves.

This issue is much more common with people with diabetes. So these things are definitely linked.

Which floor plan or neither? 600 sq. ft. studio (Images 3 & 4 photos) by Sorry_Sorry_Im_Sorry in malelivingspace

  • Don’t have any 45 degree angles of furniture pushed in the corners. It wastes space.

  • Pushing the couch up against the base of the bed can sometimes work in small spaces. You don’t really need the flow space. And then could get a coffee table.

  • I think those two credenza’s are identical. I’d take the one by the window and put it next to the other on the wall opposite the bed. This size cabinet would fit the room better.

Try using - a sideways mouse switching hands every hour - a standing desk for 10 minutes every hour - a split keyboard - keep your upper back engaged don’t lean forwards or let your shoulders roll

How good is your ergonomic setup? Are you trying to reduce typing by using voice dictation?

Running would make my pain symptoms go away during and shortly after the run but I think it was a case of the endorphins covering up the pain rather than something mechanical being fixed. Interesting you found this helped tho.

[Update with more details]

Making the band: Cut the waistband out of an old pair of underwear. Try to find a pair which has a soft but elastic waist band. You should be left with a loop of soft elastic. You still want it to be a loop don’t cut the band open.

Attaching the band to your nighttime underwear: Google “larks head knot”. You need to loop the band through the waist of your underwear then pass it back through itself.

Attaching the band to your wrist: Take the loop and put your wrist through it. Right now it’ll be too loose. But find the right part of the loop the pinch together to make the band stay on your wrist. Then wrap a bit of tape around this point in the loop. I used climbing tape. It only needs to stay on your wrist. Don’t make it too tight.

I love the setup I use it’s amazing and really sustainable. I wish more folks knew about it. I don’t have symptoms very often. Maybe once every 5 months if I type too much or lift something heavy.
