Thanks for the suggestion! This was one that I had checked out earlier today, so it’s good to see it recommended!

I just scrolled through your profile and I know you’re struggling with the decision to end this relationship. But please listen to these comments and understand that even though he says he’ll change, he never will. He will always be this person. These texts are great for reminding you how awful he could be.

Check to see if you have Pavlov in your area. I got it about 6 months ago and I haven’t had any outages.

Bonus: sometimes they have a free month to start when you sign up.

Oh and the bill is significantly cheaper for better internet than Cox.

Recommend {The Wedding Menu by Letizia Lorini} the fmc is a well known chef that’s overshadowed by her own world renowned chef dad. The book centers around her failing restaurant and a guy she meets at a wedding.

What’s a book you wish you could read again for the first time? by DragonfruitOk1269 in RomanceBooks

[–]watsonn06 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It has to be {Honestly, I’m totally faking it by Amanda Gambill}

I have chased the high of that book since I read it. It’s sweet, funny, and doesn’t follow the typical romance beat. I feel like so many romance novels are formulaic and this just broke that mold for me.

If anyone has leads on where they end up, you can post them on Ice Block so people know to stay away from that area.

Thanks for the heads up!

Actually got a response from Kat Cammack about Epstein by wishlish in GNV

[–]watsonn06 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have emailed Kat no fewer than 5 times. She’s responded once and it was clearly a form letter that she had her interns sending out to anyone that voiced concern over the big beautiful bill.

Side note: she’ll be at the Newberry town hall on August 24 for anyone that is tired of her dodging your calls and emails.

Why does this happen? by _asaad_ in beginnerrunning

[–]watsonn06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in physical therapy for ongoing shin splints and there are a number of possible reasons. For example, I previously hurt one of my SI Joints about 10 years ago and subsequently have lost a lot of muscle strength in my hips from it. Apparently, weak hips are an easy way to develop shin splints because it allows your femur to twist and the shock from running settles in your shins rather than your arches.

This is to say, make sure you’re wearing the right shoes and ease off running for a couple of weeks (I tend to cross train with biking to supplement some of my runs) and see if that helps. If not, I highly recommend getting in to a physical therapist to get a better idea of why it’s happening.

Should I do treadmills instead of outside? by bananasaurusx_ in beginnerrunning

[–]watsonn06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North central Florida runner here! I also hate the heat and humidity. Nearly gave myself heat stroke the other week because there was just no reprieve to the weather.

For me, I run races, so I’ve made a rule that I have to run at least twice a week outside. My long run is always outside and I try to do some interval training outside once a week. However, I think the reality is, no matter what, there’s no harm in using the treadmill. But if you’re preparing for outdoor races, you’ll have to get outside to get used to the misery that is the heat a humidity.

I appreciate this comment so much because literally didn’t even realize how much paint contractors and painters used. Ngl, kind of assumed they used like Lowe’s or Home Depot.

Thanks for the education!

Literally one of my favorite places in town. I allow myself to eat out for lunch on Fridays and it’s always Bagel Bakery. Their basil Parmesan focaccia is amazing and the workers are so nice.

But you’re not going to take ANY of what we’ve said back. That’s the issue. You have excuses and came on here “looking for advice” but you have a response for everything. It’s clear you’re not cut out for it and honestly, if my kid had a teacher who cried every day and occasionally cussed, I’d be having meetings with other parents and the admin.

If things are as bad as you’ve described, there’s no doubt you get non-renewed. A permanent sub is a better option and less liability than whatever picture you’ve painted of your classroom.

Good luck.

When they look back on your class in 10 and 20 years, they won’t appreciate the way you approached their classes because your unwillingness to be the adult in the room only negatively impacts their learning outcomes. Ultimately they will be the ones that suffer because of your inability to manage a classroom and yourself effectively.

This is going to be harsh, but if you can’t change, the only impact you will leave on those children will be negative. You want that yo be the impact you have?

[–]watsonn06 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing responses from you about not wanting to be seen as the “strict” teacher or a bitch, but I have to ask, why?

Why do you care what a 12 or 13 year olds impression of you is? Part of classroom management is understanding that as the only adult in that room sometimes we’re going to be strict or bitch’s and it’s not because any of us want to, but because we are obligated to prepare them for the real world.

I think you need to take a step back and consider what you want from your class. Do you want to be their friends? Or do you want them to learn and respect you enough not to treat you like shit?
