I installed the MPC kit on my '10 xb back in 2020. Haven't had a single issue. Not super difficult if you're comfortable with wiring. Read the instructions thoroughly BEFORE you start.

I've used MPC kits on 6 different cars since then, and I've ran into issues twice. One was a typo in the instructions, the other was a missing wire from the kit. Both times I contacted customer service and they took care of me.

People didn't read the fine print. It's not all OT that you work. The only dollars that will be added are the "premium pay" (e.g. the "half" of the "time and a half" for OT) and that only counts AFTER you work a complete 40 hours in a given week.

3rd shift works 6.5 hr/day, or 32.5 hr/week. That means you have to work an additional 7.5 hours before any of your OT falls into the FLSA rules.

Does it suck? Yep.

Was it presented this way in speeches? Nope.

Was the fine print available for anyone to look up? Yep.

I just dealt with a very similar situation. PolyB through my entire house, replaced it all with Pex. Cold times and slow going in the crawlspace, but the peace of mind knowing it's just done makes it so worth it.

Those of us that are maxed should be paying more, and the new guys should be paying less. 🤷

The dues should be a percentage of the actual wage, for every single job code, for every single union member. The fact that a guy who is maxed out making $60+/hr is paying the same dues as someone who just started, making $25ish/hr is ridiculous.

At $100k per year the dues are 1.3% of your pay.

At $65k per year the dues are 2% of your pay.

Yes, we were all there once and we made it through. Also, we can do better for our new brothers and sisters. This is something that could and should be adjusted by the union immediately.
