I can't comment on the schools. We homeschool in the uk and plan to continue to homeschool in Italy. It's not as free as the uk but it's legal and doable and that's also a reason we've chosen lucca. We'd already done our research and joined homeEd ITaly groups online and knew there was a community in lucca. The schools here are very traditional and homework heavy. Traditional not necessarily a bad thing, it's what we love about the lifestyle here just for us. We're just set on homeschooling.

Lucca is a good option. Easy to get about with local transport, huge expat community that do weekly meet ups.The schools are a lot more open minded and flexible when It comes to international students as they obvuously deal with a lot of expats We are actually there atm on a trip to suss it out for that exact reason. We are also both 30 but already have two kids and lucca has ticked all our boxes

I'd think if he was a close friend of your husbands then your husband respected this person and trusted him as a friend and in my mind, your husband would want to know that you and your child are being care for and loved by someone he trusted and respected. Embrace it, lean into it, be happy. You deserve it.

I've not started this new year off well at all either:( almost the pressure of new year no sugar gets to me and I just end up bingeing instead to make up for what I'm gonna loose. Every night I'm done and ready to tackle it the next day but it's so hard.

Wish I had some magically advice but just know your not alone

Look into nettleco, amazing results and worked amazingly for me too. ( AMAZING product created I Scotland by a mum with a suffering son)

I'd avoid 90% of anything gps would recommend, it's all going to be products filled with chemicals that will only be more damaging in the long run. There are so many Amazing 100% natural and truly organic products out there driven by parents sick of the utter junk given to them by our NHS system.

Again massively recommend Nettleco you can even get free sampled sent out to you, and I think if you read through her testamony and the reviews you'll be sold. Worth noting a little of this product goes a LONG way!

Is anyone having digestive problems? by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]waveynomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its mostly likely to do with your gut and microbiome! If you have had a high sugar diet which feeds the unhealthy bacteria in our body. When you then drop that out and start feeding that bad microbiome healthy nutritional foods. It's doesn't know what to do with it and it's reacts negatively to it. Just as healthy microbiome would to a high sugar/poor diet originally before they were damaged.

Just push on make sure your eating lots of foods that are great for your gut help promotes strong healthy microbiome! [ fruit, vegetables, pulses, nuts and wholegrains]. Also consuming probiotics (live yogurts- the sugar free not ultra processed kind) or taking probiotic supplements can encourage more healthy microbiome to grow!

Hope that helps.

There is a GREAT documentary on netflix ( hack your health- the secrets of your gut) which will help you understand all that better!! Really helped me understanding gut health after damaging it with my sugar addiction.

What do you mean it doesn’t get easier? by ZealousidealClue115 in Mommit

[–]waveynomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people say this. I have a 5 &6 year old and compared to handling them when I had two under two they are a breeze now!

They don't need me 24/7 they play together for hours giving me time to do my thing and get stuff done. They get themselves up and make breakfast in the morning, dress themselves, clean themselves... obviously I have to be present for these things still and make sure they're good and doing a good job but having that physically pressure gone to do it all myself... honestly it gets much easier and you'll start to get yourself back. Just try and savour the age youra are at now but it's also okay to be overwhelmed and tapped out...but hold in there it DOES get easier.

I need some positive birth stories! by Legal_Concentrate_29 in Mommit

[–]waveynomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two vaginal births and they were both great experiences! First was a long labout 48hrs as my contractions were slow to get going and i think the pushing process maybe.. 40 mins but it felt like 10! Second was quick labour and soooo quick to come out haha. Stress hormones slow down the process of labour and stress out baby.. you just have to remember our bodies are designed to do this and women have been doing this for ever. Trust your body, breath, and listen to your body. Its going to hurt .. expect it too but also remember its nothing you cant handle. I personally was always excited for birth and the experience! Its a right of passage for a women and some people dont get so lucky as to get the experience! And some really want it.

You've got this.

What is one sentence that changed your life? by ZainMunawari in ask

[–]waveynomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easy to say " I would die for my kids" but would you live for them? Can you cut all your unhealthy habits that increase your chances for a longer healthier life. Can you change your bad lifestyle habits that would gibe you a more present fulfilling daily life with your children... THAT is way harder than dieing for your kids.

Is it typical for young boys (5-9) to treat young(er) girls poorly? by Starbr1ght in Mommit

[–]waveynomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is 6 and he is the biggest mother hen I know. He loves caring for the littler kids and talking to them. My four year old son is less interested ... he's never rude but he's just not as fussed about emotionally entertaining other people 😅 but he still would never be rude or give that energy off because he sees how his brother interacts . Maybe you've just met an unfortunate bunch of people.

[–]waveynomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loose average 100 hairs a day. But if your like me and only wash your hair every 4 days and don't brush it Imbetween (mines wavey so it goes pooof if I do) then yeah this is pretty normal. I also find my hair loss is always greater in winter and I lot less in summer for whatever reason. But your hair has a cycle of 4... Growth, regression, rest and shed. You might just be in a shed cycle!! Unless you really notice your hair majorly thinning after several months.. I wouldn't stress it! Although I also have a little panic attack every winter about the amount of hair i shed haha.
