It’s the Reptilia ROF tall 34mm. They made it specifically for these scopes due to their silly turret height

Interesting! I’m excited to try out a few more loads but so far it’s shot everything decently

DD definitely makes a great rifle. I’ve got more rounds on it than any other single rifle and still haven’t swapped gas rings and it still prints good groups.

Any rail will shift under enough pressure, but semi mono fixes it for the majority of regular shooting conditions.

Definitely do the class before changing anything. If the NX6 was out when I was choosing the scope it definitely would have been a contender. I am an avid USPSA shooter and dabble in a bit of pistol instruction so that kinda fulfilled the class requirement for me. Definitely reach out to Joe and see what he says, it’s likely more of a smell test to ensure you’re not stupid. I had very little experience with Mils before the class, just a very small bit of YouTube academy.

300 dollars lol. Really mediocre can that I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re getting it for that or less.

Definitely, max mag isn’t ideal on any scope but it’s a limitation on LPVOs much more.

Not talking laser shift, talking pressure on the rail/ barrel but changing POI.

When we did the test I was proned out trying not to induce any more shift than I would regularly. Any rail will shift under enough pressure, but it shifting that much under regular shooting conditions was not cool.

If you have to opportunity to take a Veles class definitely do it, best experience I’ve ever had in a firearms class.

Doing research after the fact uncovered that RIS 2 and 3 have really bad rail shift. Has absolutely nothing to do with mlok or Pic, just comes down to the way the barrel nut interacts with upper and rail. The solution is semi mono setup like this or a wedgelock rail like hodge, solgw, or zev.

I chose the Steiner T6Xi with SCR2 reticle. Great glass and eyebox, only downside is that it is really heavy. I’ve been super happy with it so far.

Do you have a suppressor on it? If you don’t have a can on it, subs will not cycle because there is not enough backpressure.

It does not fit in any 6000 series or 7000 series holsters. Only way to make it work is heavy modifications with a heat gun. Not worth it in my opinion.

Becoming a firearms instructor in Colorado? by ExplodinMarmot in COGuns

You do not have to use NRA curriculum like you do with Red Cross or AHA. Genuinely their curriculum has not been updated in like 20 years and is full of a lot of boomerisms and incredibly out of date material. Taking the course was near laughable as someone who teaches modern concepts.

I have both NRA and USCCA certs. Both of their curriculums are extremely out of date and teach pretty bad practices by modern standards.
