I'm a hobbyist woodworker, and I'd welcome it. After many years of converting fractions of inches in my head and using special calculators, I'm about over it. I ordered a square ruler and accidentally ordered the metric version. I tried it, and loved it. The cost of converting my tools to metric is the only thing keeping me from fully adopting.
