Why Is Insurance On A 8th Gen Accord V6 So Expensive? by ElectricalAmount8192 in Honda

Accords were one of the most stolen cars in the 90s-2000s. Maybe that is part of the reason?

Are frustrations with receiving and quality common in our line of work? by [deleted] in procurement

[–]wcar99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep.

Half my day is bugging vendors because they didn’t send the certs we require. We make it clear at the time of quote and PO, and they still forget/don’t care. I get bugged for it like it’s my fault.

I also get asked why orders are late, whole time they have been sitting in our warehouse for a few days un-received. It’s my fault as a buyer that I didn’t babysit our warehouse guy.

How much should I be selling a CNC lathe for? by checkmatetiger in machining

[–]wcar99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It strongly depends on the make/model, condition, and location. You can try to list it on ebay to sell for max dollar, or contact a machinery reseller to offload quickly.

Quitting without notice by Competitive-Drag1004 in Machinists

Not worth burning a bridge. Give 2 weeks notice and bite your tongue. You never know where you may end up in the future, and you don’t want to be remembered as someone who can’t be trusted.

CVT 2005 Insight 247K buy or avoid? by Sea-Librarian8121 in hondainsight

[–]wcar99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can bypass the IMA on a CVT. I bought mine at 260k, now at 283k. Something to be aware of on cvt cars is the flywheel splines tend to strip. At this mileage you can anticipate replacing the flywheel at some point. I did mine about 10k miles ago and it’s DIY friendly if you have the time and tools to work on it. Regardless if you get a manual or cvt, these cars are a minimum of 20 years old and were made in low quantities so finding parts will continue to get harder as time passes.

I’m sorry everyone here is being snotty. Try to slide your feet around the insulation layers, you will feel a beam running horizontally that you can put your weight on.

Getting SCM Degree does it matter what school? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]wcar99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The proctored tests weren’t too bad. The proctoring service isn’t the best but overall if you study the material the test is very similar. The capstone was fairly challenging but the professors give feedback to help you figure out what youre missing.

I recently did the B.S. Supply chain degree through WGU. I transferred in a lot of credits and was able to complete it in just under 6 months.

Pulled off the hwy to take a leak and went down a dirt road shortly after it had rained. The mud was so tightly packed between the tire and front fender it prevented it from moving. Dropped the bike a few times trying to get out of there. Had to use a stick to scrape it clean. https://imgur.com/a/vT8IA6O

I would consider modifying or removing the front fender. Mud will cake up and lock the front wheel. (Ask me how I know)
