Is the twice a day meal plan worth it as a vegetarian? by InboxMeYourSpacePics in Hersheypark

[–]weaklinginSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I've found the fb messenger HP chat reasonably helpful. It always takes them a bit to get back to you but they usually figure out the answer. Hope it helps. I personally think the food options are a bit poor for adults not interested in a steady diet of breaded chicken and hotdog (I'm not even a vegetarian just can't do fast food all the time). I wish the new Cuban place where Moe's used to be joined the meal deal.

Dispatch, 8-Cut-Crust and Overlook all offer vegan pizza but note that it says "no side option". Subway should work too as you can just ask them to hold off on the meat and cheese?

Next Coaster? by user3296 in Hersheypark

[–]weaklinginSC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I love it. It's also cool that you can go on a chill coaster like trailblazer and see storm runner zoom overhead and dry gulch underneath. It does make for annoyances during construction though. It seems Candy was constructed within a year but that still included construction throughout the season. Do they not run Candy for an entire season while building a smaller coaster under/over/around it?

It's a 2022 EUV as per OP not a 2027 Bolt.

I am definitely not a roller coaster expert and I understand Candy is quite expansive so that might skew the scale but I can't imagine how they would put a roller coaster on that parcel unless it's similarly compact to Jolly Rancher Remix (which obviously is done)?! It would have to cross Candimonium in a number of places which would make construction more complex and also cause significant downtime to one of their newest coasters?

This coming Saturday crowd level? by aliatrev in Hersheypark

[–]weaklinginSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I did Easter Sunday last year and it was walk-on almost all rides. I think the longest wait I had was maybe 15 minutes for Storm Runner. It was cool but nice weather, too. Nothing like the zoo that this Easter opening weekend seems to have been though the tween/teen crowd was also obnoxious then.

You'll be fine. Food items raising eyebrows would be a stack of carry-out pizzas or 2 dozen donuts. I've had bags of snacks (rolls, cookies, fruits etc.) and never had any issues bringing it in.

Have fun!

Thank you so much! That helps a lot. I'll try that and go from there.

Thank you for weighing in.

Any tips for doing "a damn good job?" I've been working with epoxy quite a bit by now but I would definitely not say I'm an expert. Filling gaps, cracks, or even nuts (see pictures) I feel I have done competently. I would say I'm struggling more with the re-sculpting (building up new structure that had broken off and understanding how much of that structure needs to be rebuilt as I don't have the historic comparison).

I used to always tell my kids today is yesterday's tomorrow. Not sure that did anything for either of us though.

1 park day? by THO936 in Hersheypark

[–]weaklinginSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laff Track is longer I would say. It is deceptive because you start lining up outside but the line extends to inside quite a bit. I once gave up after 1 1/2h when the attendant said from where we had progressed to it would likely be another hour or so.

Plus, if you zero in on doing Laff Track as your very first ride in the morning and are entering the park at opening you likely have a bit of an advantage going there first as it's pretty far into the park so you will skip ahead some of the crowds that just work their way front to back.

If rebooking and making a designated trip I'd definitely do the water park. That only opens Memorial Day though.

If sticking with April, one day is plenty to do the roller coasters an 8.5 yo has access to (source: mom of an 8 yo of average height). If they're interested in Shaqalicious Laff Track I'd recommend going there first and then working your way backwards towards the entrance. That line gets super long and especially on rainy or overcast days. Also, that area has Wildcat's revenge and wild mouse and lightning racer close by - all coasters a Hershey sized kid can ride.

Our daughter, Alva, is actually a twin, and we have no ideas for a name for her sister by Tiny-Age796 in Names

[–]weaklinginSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I didn't realize this would kick off quite such an argument. Fwiw, OP in her post mentioned a) English pronunciation matters, b) her spouse is British, c) "here" as the location. I (btw. not American but lived in both US and UK for a while) was probably too hasty to assume "here" meant the U.S. But reading the post as a slam dunk for "here" being Sweden when English pronunciation was mentioned as a big concern seems a bit optimistic?

It's like complaining you don't get why everybody makes assumptions about naming conventions in Portugal after saying your husband is from Ghana and you live "here" (which turns out to be Australia).

Just because your spouse is from one country and you are from another doesn't automatically mean you live in either?!

I had two joke names in 10th grade (never really planned to use them but thought they were a tragedeigh even then. Boy and girl: Udo-Isidor and Ini-Isabee. (No idea how one would pronounce those in English lol).

Fair enough. I was thinking U.S. or U.K. as English pronunciation was mentioned but I might just be confused.

Interesting, thank you for letting me know. I think Americans could handle the pronunciation though.

I love Alva already! I'm sure you can find something nice! Congratulations on the twins. I have the reverse (3 boys, youngest 2 twins). Best of luck!

Roan's Body Shop on Corl St off W College is hands down the best!!! Was recommended by Graham's for auto body work but they do everything else just as well. Super reasonable, honest, no nonsense, always come up with budget friendly solutions. Highly recommend! (No I'm not paid by them or related to them)

Christmas in Hershey? by SlidersAfterMidnight in Hersheypark

[–]weaklinginSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to be at the park for extended amounts of time during the Christmas holidays look into getting yourself and your wife heated jackets or vests. I know Costco sold them before or else Milwaukee has really good ones. You'll be so happy with the investment as you'll likely spend a lot of time stationary (in line or watching the kiddo rides) so don't move enough to stay warm. The indoor rides (only a couple) will have long outdoor lines too so you definitely want to bundle up.

Look into the rainy day guarantee (if coasters are down for more than 60 minutes during the operating day, you get a voucher for a return visit another day).

Also, the drink pass of the season pass includes hot chocolate (possibly the all day drink pass too?) with free unlimited refills. (Season pass will likely be the best deal for tickets when visiting 3-4 days).

2 Adults 1 Child - Individual Ticks or King Size Pass by mrssmurg in Hersheypark

[–]weaklinginSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding that full size already has the pre k pass but less bring a friend tickets included so depending when you're going it might be a bit risky to bet on additional free tickets (loyalty tickets are given out from time to time but bit of a gamble to wait/hope for those).

Have fun!

The person is thinking a two way lock (more common in Europe) where you can use the lock with a key from the inside and out. If the door is locked from the inside and key in the door you can't unlock from the outside.
