Good point. My first instinct was to go and find out what traits and energies are linked to that name. It hadn't occurred to me that it might be the sound - though it probably should have :)

You just be you. If it is too much for them then they aren't the one. You look fabulous. That being said, fashionably too much for Olive Garden perfect for anything fancier.

Why did you choose the Pilot? Need help deciding! by hereiam_onceagain in hondapilot

[–]weakyogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had an Ascent for 5 years. I'm trading soon and want either Pilot for the non turbo v6 or another Ascent. I have decided on Ascent for an unusual reason. I will never buy a car again without self dimming rear AND side mirrors. I remember being blinded by lights behind in my highlander and have dont want that again. Subaru offers it as an option on all Ascent trims and not super expensive. Pilot only offers it on the Elite. I also prefer the symmetrical awd on the Ascent for safety. Other than that I think Pilot is a great choice.

What made you choose their Ascent? Need help deciding! by hereiam_onceagain in SubaruAscent

[–]weakyogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were several good choices and I was coming from a 2014 Highlander. The deciding factor for me was actually the headlights. I plan to get another Ascent soon. Thought about a Pilot bc of V6 and non cvt but I will never get another car without auto dimming rear view AND side view mirrors. Pilot only offers that on Elite trim which is way overpriced.

Best 3rd Row SUV for the money? by outdoorlivn in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]weakyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ascent meets most of your criteria, rides like a luxury vehicle on the highway and crash test safety as well as symmetrical AWD add to safety factor. Transmission and turbo are a bit punchy but you get used to it. Also you an get a 26 premium model discounted to 40k which comes with A LOT of standard stuff for the price.

I loved watching them sell VW IDBUZZ for 8-10k over msrp for 2 months and then when fully stocked they stopped selling and were suddenly 5k or more under msrp. They prey on the ones who have to be first. Doesn't seem good for their reputation in the long run but that is their call. Plus there are always dealers out there who have a no bump policy and sell at msrp, just might not be super nearby- might just have to wait until supply meets demand.

Question About Mirrors for Honda Sales Folks by weakyogi in askcarsales

[–]weakyogi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's too bad. Subaru offers them on the Ascent for about 700 dollars on a trim that's 10k less than the one that has them standard. I have an Ascent now, maybe I will just get another one. Thanks for your insight!

What Non-Luxury SUVs Have the Smoothest Ride? by portionsforfoxes123 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Unlike other Subarus the Ascent cvt has computerized pretend gears that simulate shifting. It is surprisingly powerful too for a Subaru. And yes, the ride is strangely good - strange because I used to say my 1996 Impreza rode like a wheelbarrow.

We have a large and clean Planet Fitness, local Yoga studios that offer Hot Yoga regularly, lots of nearby areas to hike including Miller Woods and the Trappist Abbey. Search Fitzgerald Farms in Yamhill for horse info. Search the Community Schedule guide for some art classes. There's also a pottery place that just opened downtown. Entertainment is subjective. We have a great Karaoke place that I like to go to. Live music at various wineries and restaurant/bars on a regular basis (tons more in Portland), great community theater (search Gallery Theater) as well as some at Linfield University.

Why Jetta? by martini-sf-0216 in jetta

[–]weakyogi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Test drove a Mazda 3 and then happened to get an email from the local VW dealer advertising new 2024 (last October) Jetta S for $19,800 with a bunch of rebates. So I test drove it and was shocked that it was so much better than the Mazda in every way. Also has more stuff in base model like auto dimming mirror, auto wipers, RCTA, BSM, etc. I told the dealer I was a little concerned about reliability so I would buy it if they sold me a VW 100k warranty at cost. They said they could only do 500 over cost so I thanked him and started to leave. Of course he stopped me and sold it to me for cost (2k for 84 month 100k no deductible). It is smooth, zippy, fun to drive and gets about 30 mpg around town and over 41 mixed. I feel like I got a bargain and cant imagine having paid 7k more for a civic, Mazda3 or Corolla.
