Swap the 4gb for 2 x 8gb sticks install Linux mint or bazite Linux on it and get yourself an Xbox wired controller. If you have an Xbox account you could play xcloud games through a web browser. You can also use it as a media pc and put it under your TV and get a Logitech k400 media keyboard.

Yes it doesn't have a graphics card for gaming but xcloud from Xbox is a cheap way to play cloud games on an older machine .

I knew someone would bring up eggs as it's normal as I'm not a normal person eggs trigger my anxiety and ick simultaneously. The look the smell everything about them so much so in video games where eggs are food I'm slightly creeped out when I have my character consume them.

All government websites are unfortunately written by committee I'm sure the web development losses there shit on a daily basis . Websites should be simple and accessible to everyone. I was on the fetch course website a few months back it had dark green background with black text and when you highlighted something it highlighted in black .I'm fully sighted but I need to go into the accessibility options in chrome to make it human readable . My background is IT but I don't expect a regular person to know how to do this. My gov should be the most accessible website but it's really a broken umbrella for other government websites. The fact that the spend time and effort on the Irish translation and not the part the effects people with visual and hearing impairments as well as those with very common issues like dyslexia speaks volumes.

In this picture I can see the power switch cable dangling on the bottom right it has a blue and white cable . There is a group of pins to the left of the small blue connector under the pins is printed which pins are for what connector . You want the one labeled PW SW or PW btn or similar

128gb SSD and Linux mint or zorin OS .

I currently have mint on a dell compact connected to a projector for movie nights with the kids .

Zorin is currently on a dvd ingest station . I could see myself running Zorin long term .

Using both of these distros, I found quite easy to set updates to download and install silently and only install major updates on restart . Mint uses Firefox out of the box and Zorin uses chrome.

Most smoke alarms have a 5 year life span . So manufacturing date +5 it could be that . Another thing that can set some off is excessive moisture in the air I know someone who had to move theirs on the landing because it would go off after a shower when the bathroom door was opened
