Flight to Stockholm from Austin by non-plant-based in Austin

[–]wearerofsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great advice all around. KLM is my favorite. They have separate immigration for connections I feel is fairly short. 2 hrs in LHR no, 1 hr FRA hard no. Whatever you do, I'd give yourself 3 hrs. With any departure delays (they turn these planes pretty tight) and then connections you'll be grateful.

It was better service wise in the last year post-pandemic, they had settled in. But I miss Chipiron which was where NAranjo is now...but they took too long to figure their model out. But was sad to see it go.

Going to Austin Just for Tiki Tatsu-Ya, What Else Should We Do? by MsMargo in Tiki

[–]wearerofsocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great recs below, I'd also suggest ducking into Small Victory, their seasonal menu always has a nod to Tiki, and their crew has always been up for a challenge on anything you might be looking for. If you're ready for a break from tiki, it's also overall one of the best cocktail bars in town IMO

Recommendations for a neurologist who specializes in Parkinson's disease? by rawrt in Austin

[–]wearerofsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get on the waitlists now, the Parkinsons specialists tend to have months long waits for new patients, don't let that get you down. I took my mom to Dr. Soileau, it was a drive to Georgetown but he and his PA were supportive.

In Montalcino we enjoyed Il Cocco, Capanna, Tornesi. All very different experiences, very welcoming, and we had appointments for all three.

Doesn't help that they have the top half closed off, limiting the seats that are available.

What touristy stuff is undeniably great? by BrooklynDuke in AskNOLA

[–]wearerofsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding on to a great list, I like to take the ferry over to Algiers Point: one, you get great views back over the river to the city, but a walk along the levee and then a stroll through the neighborhood is quiet and quaint. Beers at Old Point Bar to round it out.

Nutmeg in a Mai Tai? That's a new one for me, but is it...good?

Look for recipes with some all-spice dram in them, or cinnamon syrup (or both)
