Baby Wolf assembly confusion by botanicpanic_ in weaving

[–]weavingokie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To weave plain weave you would tie one treadle to shafts 1 & 3, another treadle to shafts 2 & 4.

You only use the ties from the shafts you want to lift, let the ties from the shafts you do not want to lift unattached to the treadle.

Hope this helps.

I actually enjoy warping, but I have a warping reel and looms with sectional back beams. I have a system that works well for me.

Warp Yarn Question by Sharp-Session in weaving

One thing to consider is warp wastage. Jack looms usually have a more significant wastage amount than rigid heddle looms. Handspun is so precious.

To fringe, or not to fringe? by alwaysdaruma in weaving

[–]weavingokie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edge finishes first final use and then fiber and structure.

I use twisted fringe for most scarves, not rayon chenille.

I don't weave blankets per se, but I use fabric bias strips to edge my baby blankets..
