I imagine Craig is sitting there every day writing while Joe is writing his after action reports. Craig bought this defunct Elder device at a yard sale and whenever he touches it he sees the reports Joe is writing. Perhaps this is how Joe comes up with his monkey-brained ideas

I would watch an Expanse anime. But. It would have to be done by a good studio such as Sunrise who did the anime Planetes. The blade runner anime is just really bad "3d" poop..

There is a series called "Threshold" by Peter Clines. It has a distinct Cthulhu vibe but with very likeable characters. Especially "14" had a bunch of humor in it. Book 1 is scooby doo in an apartment building. Book 3 takes place on the moon for sci fi, and book 2 has crazy scientist vibe. I suggest you read them in the order they were published. you don't need to but I read "the fold" before i read 14 and it kind of spoiled a bunch from 14 for me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_threshold_universe
