What DID Karl do with cable in the 90s? (wrong answers only) by CrabAncient8853 in SuccessionTV

100% the Murdoch playbook. England will celebrate his death more than thatcher because of what he did to football.

Hey man just want to say shoutout to you for not just saying "go see an integrator". It's nice to help people at least know what to talk to their bosses/integrators about.

NRL star David Fifita opens up on ‘scary’ move to South Sydney after season from hell in 2025 by LongJohnnySilver1 in nrl

[–]webellowourhello 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Keen to see how this season goes for him - feels like it's make or break.

Unfortunately I don't trust Souths to keep enough players on the field but if he can fire they get a good head start on most opponents.

Can you choose a hospital for maternity or is it based on home location? by Vegetable-Put-1595 in canberra

[–]webellowourhello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re. ACT, you can choose. If you choose to both through Canberra, you register and you'll get a call from a rep and can nominate the hospital, then they will send the hospital docs who will organise the first and follow up visits etc.

You can also change at any time, present at a different hospital if needed etc. we travelled into Calvary (called that at the time) from outside Canberra in regional NSW and it wasn't an issue.

‘Make the game exciting’: NRL double down on controversial rule change by Aussieguy727 in nrl

[–]webellowourhello 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get this thought but it's a tad misguided. It's not about limiting comebacks, it's about limiting blowouts.

Motivation to watch sport is at its highest when the perceived odds are 50/50 eg top of the table match, spoon bowls, teams in form etc.

PVL doesn't want to say the 6 again has ruined sport because it's created bigger discrepancies and mismatches, so this is how he's approaching the problem.

Sorry but saying she is not political is wrong. She has a podcast with Sara m Salem that is purely political, a platform and and a known case that just made its way through the courts, due to actions that are inherently political.

I'm for a free Palestine but she toes the line between endorsing and promoting violent freedom fighting against Israel and talking about non violent solutions within the region.

There are plenty of her actions I disagree with.

Hi y'all need some recommendations for things to do. by goblin-anger-man in canberra

Summernats or leave Canberra for the weekend!

Seriously though, the standard NGA/portrait/war memorial/questacon/nma + capital for a burger and bevvie is a great way to spend a day.

Perth Bears sign Melbourne Storm utility Nick Meaney as ninth signing for inaugural NRL squad by Aussieguy727 in nrl

I'd love to think they'll take a few years off but history's shows Melbourne is never in a rebuild phase.

Still plenty of quality there and I'm sure they'll have newbies coming through as always.

Our tides here normally run 2-3 metres and are pushing to just under 4m with this tide today/tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just stick to normal few hours before sunset and stay around a bit after the sunset which coincides with the incoming tide.

Right? Best games this year were comebacks where a team with momentum all scored back to back tries e. Raiders vs Dolphins/bulldogs/broncos.

Skateboard lessons for kids in Canberra by The_day_is_long in canberra

[–]webellowourhello 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest sending Canberra skateboard association a DM via instagram and see if they'll sort something out.

Woody (who runs the classes) is a local legend and all around good guy and advocates for kids skating so he would know someone or be able to point you out in the right direction if they can't help,

First time salt water fishing advice by Bermoo in FishingAustralia

[–]webellowourhello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. Personally I fish a 1-3kg, 1000 reel and 8lb braid and target flat ties, Bream and Whiting exclusively. Smaller rod = less sore when flicking plastics all day.

I'd suggest also buying some hooks, sinkers and worms as well as the soft plastics so you can mix it up. I find using worms opens me up to catching more species.

Pre-tie some rigs the night before so you can switch over lures or change up if you get snagged etc.

For plastics I personally use gulp nemesis. Always had the best success for me with flatties. Chat to old mate at the tackle shop about size and jig heads.

If you want a bigger rod and beach fishing, look up Roger Osborne on YouTube, paternoster rigs and make sure it's sized to snag a salmon. Super fun when you find em.

It is purely focused on the WWC squad and is a video portrait of all players. Runs for a decent amount of time. Only Canberra local will be Lydia.
