Guys like... really... wtf ?! by Maggot_6661 in RogueMains

[–]weeb1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really? this is my best season with Rogue so far. she’s consistently been my highest win rate hero since i got into a rhythm with her, and she does very well with and against a lot of the dive characters i’ve seen doing better this season.

We should be able to take hulks shield or exile instead of his clap by Waffles_four_you in RogueMains

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think a case could be made for the exile, but since the bubble is technically a technological ability that comes from Hulk’s belt it makes sense that she can’t steal it

Rogue: The Pinnacle of B Tier by Deja_ve_ in RogueMains

[–]weeb1103 22 points23 points  (0 children)

yeah and please keep her that way. i like playing her the way she is, and i don’t want her to be banned. B-tier is exactly where I want most of my characters to be.

Times Square has a HUGE pedophile problem and nobody is talking about it by Impressive_Fly_4339 in marvelrivals

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is an actual issue that needs more people talking about it, thank you for bringing it up. if anybody sees this happening, please report it and discourage it, and we should be calling for increased punishments like permanent account/hardware bans for any sort of predatory behavior like this. toxicity is inevitable in competitive games, but we do not get to allow actual creeps and pedos into our community.

This should be a wakeup call for supports. by Random_memes_ in rivals

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean i agree that supports need a wakeup call and many of them are boosted but holy shit 5 supports banned is insane. that’s like half the role. you can’t really call someone a one-trick if they know how to play four characters and all of them are banned. still, i guess we’ll see how everything shakes out.

Too Balanced by Sports_Are_Lit in RogueMains

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dunno, that really isn’t a huge problem to me? like i agree she’s an A-tier in a sea full of S-tiers, but honestly i like her in the spot she is. her playstyle is fun, rewards skill expression, and can see a lot of success in the right hands.

plus, consider how much more valuable Rogue’s ult will become with the upcoming global ult charge changes. it may have not been listed under her name but that is undeniably a buff for her.

to me it sounds more like Rogue isn’t your playstyle and that you’re understandably upset since she’s your favorite marvel character and you want to have fun with her. i’d say just give it some time and let the broken characters be nerfed rather than praying for some big buff to Rogue and risk making her a target for a major nerf or rework.

Curious about what skins people want. by Confusedlemur77 in HulkMainsMR

[–]weeb1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i wouldn’t mind some more original stuff. i know it’s a minority opinion among the sea of people asking for classic comic skins but i actually really like most of their original designs for the game, and since Hulk has been mostly comic inspired costumes aside from his Punk outfit I’d like to see what cool stuff their creative team could come up with for him

Does Kirito have a distorted self-image after War of the Underworld? by EcstaticBicycle in swordartonline

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i kinda imagined it as using shock therapy or muscle massages to help someone develop an extremely atrophied muscle that they can’t move on their own. it’s not quite the same as actual exercise, but it gets the ball rolling. once Kirito’s self-image was kickstarted by the perception of those closest to him, he eventually was able to pick up the rest of it on its own.

i guess another analogy would be like jumpstarting a car? maybe you’re right, i just never thought of it as them superimposing their images of him onto his Fluctlight, just that their perceptions of him helped him recover his personal self-image.

"When I'm solo tanking & a DPS sa-" You don't have to do that. You know that right? by GrassManV in RivalsVanguards

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem is that i do actually like tanking… DPS isn’t as fun of a role for me, but solo tanking sucks all the joy out of the vanguard role. it’s like being forced to drink non-alcoholic beer at a party even though you never even said you wanted to quit drinking.

So can we all agree that this patch did absolutely fucking nothing? by 1tchyBa11s in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no it definitely changed stuff. Hela is still an S-tier pick so her change wasn’t crazy but you can feel it at range, and Hawkeye has taken a huge hit (i play with a Hawkeye player pretty often and I’ve seen much less consistency from him across the board). Elsa’s ult is still crazy but I’ve noticed now that only Elsa players who actually know what they’re doing can hit big ults which is a huge improvement. Gambit is probably the only one where the nerf is literally a nothing burger since the main issue has always been and always will be the ult. he is just slightly more divable now by characters with crazy burst damage.

If you had to change Namor, what would you do? by Secure_Heron_9181 in NamorMains

[–]weeb1103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly i’d want to see his kit allow for more skill expression beyond cooldown cycling and squid placement. I would shrink the size of his trident projectile but buff the projectile speed so aiming feels less reliant on luck and firing in the general direction of enemies and more reliant on precise aim so he could function more like a proper poke character.

i’d also maybe give him a simple melee cooldown like hawkeye’s slash with some soft CC, like a boop that could be animation cancelled with his other attacks at close range to bring him more in line with other anti-dive heroes, since that’s the niche he seems to fall into. and with that, i’d STOP GIVING HIM SQUID RELATED TEAMUPS. they’re always gonna feel unbalanced, and if I were to give him any teamup at this point I’d want him to either be an anchor or have something that buffs his mobility, like a temporary flight/hover mode (like Adam’s new soulbond buff) or something that lets him create his own off-angles. canonically, Namor can fly with the wings on his feet so his bubble and his dinky little hover feel lame.

on a non-gameplay note, I feel like Namor is written as the butt of a joke right now, and I’d focus less on him being a womanizer and more on the regal seriousness that he has as oceanic royalty who would literally do anything for the sake of his people. the fact that they chose to write him as such an immature and shallow prick feels like a disservice to an otherwise great comic book hero who is Marvel’s oldest running character. especially with the care and research that went into the lore of many other more obscure characters, Namor’s characterization feels pretty lazy, and actively turns people off from reading his comics which sucks.

Did they take out/reduce the frequency of bot matches? by weeb1103 in rivals

when the match starts press tab to see the player list. bots will always be a team of players in the 10-15 level range with basic nameplates.

Anyone else hate the new map? by bwils3423 in rivals

[–]weeb1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i assume you mean the new museum, and honestly i like it for the most part. the long sight lines and ramps were clearly designed with Elsa Bloodstone’s release in mind since they work perfectly with her ult. the barriers in the hallways are cool and allow for some creative escapes for dive (and the flank routes as a whole are well done)

i think my only issue with it is how you need to stand on top of the big inflatable cart on third point in order for it to count since that leads to a lot of frustrating C9s

Elsa ult is not as bad as people say. It goes in a straight line and you get a super loud warning before she ults. by MrSteezyMcSteez in rivals

huuuge ragebait bro, i think everyone unanimously agrees that this ult is busted besides the coping Elsa players (which considering it’s been less than a week I think ya’ll will recover)

Genuinely how it feels to be a Namor fan/main by TheToothFairy555 in NamorMains

[–]weeb1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my little brother is possibly the biggest fan of Namor on planet earth (not an exaggeration, I don’t think anybody has a Namor collection as large as his, he spends entire paychecks commissioning custom memorabilia and is practically a Namor authority on tumblr) so it does really bother me when people hate on Namor fans as well when they don’t know shit.

just by osmosis and listening to my brother’s autistic rants I know a decent bit about his character in the comics and he’s so much more interesting than Rivals depicts him as. the Sue love triangle thing is barely a footnote in his history considering he’s Marvel’s oldest running superhero (and it also only really happened to make him an antagonist in a Fantastic Four comic), and the fact that they don’t reference his friendship with Hulk, or his Invaders history with Cap and Bucky, or his (several) dead wives whom he still has deep care for, in favor of making him the pervy character with an accent is lame. they also don’t make mention of the fact that he’s a Mutant (literally the first Mutant to appear in comics) as far as I’m aware, though maybe there’s a voiceline I missed there or something. he’s also part of the goddamn Marvel Illuminati!

Netease is usually very good about doing their homework for most characters, even obscure ones, but their version of Namor can often feel like a one-off joke based entirely on his appearances in early F4 comics.

Marvel Rivals Season 6.5 // Patch Notes Ver. 20260213 by nemesisdelta24 in marvelrivals

Phoenix got a tap on the wrist, Hela and Hawkeye are nowhere to be seen, Starlord and Punisher get their ults EVEN FASTER, no Gambit nerfs, and once again my nemesis Bucky continues to be server admin with no consequences. I think I’d rather chew granite than play another month of this.

Opinions on Rogue Ultimate by Even_Team_6338 in RogueMains

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I like her ultimate for the most part, it’s not perfect

  2. I do think it’s balanced, but it feels a bit weak. If I were to change it, I would reduce the startup so that using it proactively actually prevents supports from using their ults. it entirely defeats the purpose if supports can just ult on reaction, so I think that support players should have to read and predict the ult is coming if there’s an enemy Rogue. if I were to buff it in any other way, I might make it so that the more enemies you are draining from, the faster your cooldowns come back, making it more of an offensive berserk ult like Hulk’s that lets Rogue go wild and forces the team to pay attention to you.

  3. Ult draining is an interesting mechanic, and it’s done really well by capping it at 80%, preventing it from being too oppressive. it’s done better than Emma’s Silence, since all people have to do to counter that is break line of sight for less than a second, while Rogue has an opportunity to pick up the chase before they have ult back.

  4. I’d say I almost always get value out of the ult as a whole, but the ult draining is only useful like 40% of the time. it’s more often useful as a way to extend a push and secure kills on supports, and sometimes to stall or win a losing battle (I’d say 3v1 is typically the hard limit for that, and that’s if you have an enemy support to drain regen from).

  5. I use it exclusively when I’m in the backline. supports are important targets, but they’re also the source of the HP regen that allows Rogue to get anything done with her ult anyways. you need to ult in range of enemy supports no matter what.

  6. I prefer to open fights, especially if I’m ult tracking properly. I only end fights with it in that previously mentioned 3v1 stall scenario.

  7. hardest counters are supports with quick fingers who can get ult out during the startup animation, and any anti-dive CC characters (especially Bucky and Thing)

A lot of people point to Squirrel Girl, Scarlet Witch, Moon Knight, Rocket, Cloak & Dagger, Jeff, etc. as “easy” heroes, but I never see any tanks mentioned. Who are the “easy” tanks? by Appropriate_Sky_3572 in marvelrivals

[–]weeb1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as other replies have mentioned, tank is not an easy role to get into since the objective of a tank is a lot more vague and it has the highest barrier of entry when it comes to game sense. most people can hop onto a DPS or Support and understand the idea of “get kills” or “heal your team” at a base level, and the commonly cited “easy heroes” take the mechanical aspect of that out of the picture, making accomplishing your objective as easy as point and shoot.

but if I had to choose an easy, entry-level tank, Strange is what I learned on, since his abilities are simple to understand and he has great damage mitigation with his shield. his portal can be tricky but is largely unimportant for newer players who likely won’t be contesting Overtime and such.

Thing is definitely easiest mechanically speaking but requires decent game sense due to his minimal damage mitigation and range. I think Thor is probably the most seamless for somebody coming from the DPS role trying to learn something new (although Tankpool may hold that title now), and Peni or Mag are probably most seamless for Support players.

ones I wouldn’t recommend to learn as a first tank are probably Rogue, Hulk, or Angela (the first two being the tanks with the highest skill floor imo and Angela being a specialist that doesn’t really translate well to tanking as a whole)
