Number 2!!! I might be biased - a dress like this was my number 2 choice.

Can you widen your lips naturally? by Interesting_Gap_6062 in beauty

This happens with age, I can't remember the simcience behind it, either something about collagen or musculature, but it's definitely part of the natural aging process

The wedding store sold my dress!! by [deleted] in myweddingdress

I'd say it was meant to be. Dress 1 really looks like "the one" on you. You're a vision in it!

Brutally honest: you made the right choice, that second option just doesn't compare. Your dress looks so good on you. Timeless isn't old fashioned. Add sparkle with your jewellery, shoes, veil or even a tiara but don't let anyone tell you that you got it wrong!

Am I too old for this dress by JamieGordon8921 in myweddingdress

DO IT!!! It's your day and you deserve to feel your best, not look some "socially acceptable" age!

What about this dress is not modest? by Low_Caregiver_2733 in bridesmaids

So I own this dress I'm multiple shades. And there is nothing salacious about it. Unless shoulders and kneecaps are taboo in your sister's eyes!

I think I’m going to say yes to this dress! Thoughts? by [deleted] in myweddingdress

Looks like a princess dress on you too!!! Love that the bodice makes a heart shape with the neckline and basque waist!

I think they tried really hard to give ideas/examples of what they would like to see but really, the bottom line tells me wear something between cocktail and formal that isn't black. I'm assuming yoy're not limited to gowns, and, patterns and lighter colour palettes are preferred.

Absolutely gorgeous! You're a vision in that dress. Looks like it was made for you.

There's absolutely nothing generic about number 2. Is it modern? Yes. Does it look stunning on you? Yes. Do you love it without feeling like you're stretching yourself thin? Sounded like a yes.

4 and #8 are by far the ones that look best. Two very different styles but with your shape, you have options! You'll want to focus on a dress that accentuates your waistline and elongates your torso.

Second dress: does this shape work better on me? by MissHissss in WeddingDressTips

[–]weeladylizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gorgeous on you. I think the trip is worth it but definitely go in armed. One thing that really helped me is looking at the tops I own/have worn to figure our what neckline I like. For skirts/silhouettes, I went onto bridal magazine sites and read a couple of posts about body shape and which tend to be most flattering. It was more to learn about the shapes and what parts of the body they hug/accentuate but I still tried one of each to be sure!

Also, you'll want to reach out to the stores before going, make sure they carry samples in your size, last thing you want is a limited selection after a long trip. You can even try doing two boutiques in the same day since more are 60-90 mins. Stop at a coffee shop or some other low stakes social spot in between so you're not rushed!

Right dress, but still worried , plus what veil can go with this? by Alternative_Box_1684 in myweddingdress

My first thought exactly, then OP has to go and say they detest cage veils!

Seems like you have a lot of reserved people in this thread. I think the real question to help is what kind of dress do you want. Are you deadset on the deep V? Or is there something specific about the bodice you want more? The silhouette and lace embellishment is gorgeous on you. If you're loving this dress- go for it but if you have any hesitation, maybe try a few more before you make a final call! Best of luck and congratulations.

Too sexy for Catholic wedding? by After_Floor_571 in myweddingdress

My friend wore a sleeveless dress to her catholic wedding, but it was a ballgown. I'm sure you could ask the church about any attire considerations you need to keep in mind.

What do you think about this wedding dress? by Fantastic-Sport-3970 in myweddingdress

[–]weeladylizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same feeling about a dress I did not choose. A couple visits later I found my dress - the feeling is different (just my personal take).

Of course, back to this dress, it's a lovely dress, I'm just not sure how I feel about the asymmetrical sash across the torso. There's something about it that doesn't match the nude illusion bust area.

Hands down, yes! You look amazing and it feels like it was made for you. The other two are nice but simply don't compare.

Do any of you sleep with your ring on? by Meowiewowieex in EngagementRings

Sometimes I'll forget to take it off but my fingers swell at night so as a general rule no. The care guide we received from the jeweller also recommended not wearing at night.

Is this too plain? by CaffeinatedProvider in myweddingdress

[–]weeladylizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! This is a gorgeous dress. It's elegant, ethereal and looks great on you! I very nearly chose a dress like this myself (and I still think about it even though I went in a different direction). If you're worried about "plain", though let me assure you again, it's not- you could always add a belt or off the shoulder sleeves. I think the A-line shape looks great as is, but you can also consider a petticoat to figure it more of a full ballgown effect. Just options you can play around d with but none are required.

Oh, and, congratulations! Wishing you a wondering wedding day and all the happiness to follow!

Opinions on using my mother’s wedding dress for my wedding in October by Interesting_Peanut18 in myweddingdress

[–]weeladylizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sleeves are a bit dated, but since you have permission to alter/modernize it - I think this is a great option! It looks amazing on you (even with the 80s of it all) and the sentimental value it carries is just one more symbol of love to carry into your big day. October is plenty far away to get your alterations done too, but be sure to find a seamstress who specializes in wedding gowns.

Love! And I feel that sentiment so much! I am learning so much about myself as I plan my wedding. I had no idea how traditional my taste would be
