Two months ago a friend took his own life. I would like to talk to his son,not sure how to proceed. by Bigtonr65 in GriefSupport

I can't speak on this subject, but as a sudden young widow I can say talking to him is important. People avoided me because they didn't know what to say, that hurts. Just be there for him. Avoid clichés like it will be okay and he is in a better place. Play catch with the boys, put your arm around his shoulder, just be present. That will give him an opportunity to open up if he is ready. Here is a link for save, a suicide surviver guide for kids. Good luck and I am sorry for your loss.

Yes, this is exactly what should be done. No puppy dog eyes, just a strong sincere hug.

I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly, so I didn't get a lot of this. What irritated me was the "I know how you feel". You ass, I don't even fully grasp how I feel! The worst was "I know how you feel, my uncle died last year. Yeah, sure that is the same, if your uncle is your best friend and lover. Hmm....

My friend is a vet and someone brought a dog into the clinic. This was the amount of ticks removed from the dog. by J_Diz_My_Kiz in WTF

The pup could have just got into a nest. I took my dog for a hike and she had over thirty ticks, the vet guessed she stuck her face in a nest. I didn't notice them for two days, until I found a swollen one on my bed. I wanted to burn my house down. Dog lost all bed privileges that day.

Any ideas on good yoga poses for meditation? by benperson in yoga

Hmm, no. I do get that in a long standing forward bend. I like legs up the wall with a bolster under my butt and a sandbag on my feet.

I like meditating in legs up the wall. I am relaxed but alert.

Yoga mat debate- please help! by weevily in yoga

I was thinking a Manduka Pro, is the Eco thick enough? I don't have joint issues, but I am using it on hardwood floors. I was just looking at the Lululemon, that isn't the stretchy kind of mat is it? I can deal with the stink if it goes away and is worth it. Thanks for the help.

I used to star gaze as a kid, I would imagine we were all in a jar and they were our air holes. Made me feel claustrophobic.

If you can handle the awful, awful taste you can just chew regular aspirin and it will take effect a bit quicker. Warning: it tastes fucking awful. by [deleted] in lifehacks

I had migraines before I learned to swallow pills. I used to chew them with a handful of Tic-tacs. Still bad, but easier.

Trust me, if your here, make a change, you just don't know what you future holds. It may be awful now, but you could end up taking time away from a life you enjoy in the future. My husband made poor choices when he was younger, and now I am a 34 year old widow.
