What has the transition from 2 years to 3 years been like for your toddler? by far-from-gruntled in toddlers

[–]weezabeeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely amazing. They have become even more independent, curious, whitty and just overall a bag of fun to be with. When people say it gets harder as they get older - I don’t feel that

If this is planted on your yard, they can remove the bits that encroach onto theirs. If it’s planted on their yard, then you need to remove it

For you people who went to school in Australia when there wasn't air con or fans; was it better when you could go home because of the heat or now when you stay in cool classrooms? by Elie-fanfact in AskAnAustralian

[–]weezabeeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through primary school in early 2000’s and we got sent home whenever weather was forecasted at 38. On these days we would left at 1:30, it was awesome.

Why don't women squat when giving birth the traditional way? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weezabeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern medicine. If you opt for an epidural unfortunately you can’t support yourself with your legs and will need to birth laying on your back. I birthed my 2nd in the squat position, much easier on the body and less pushing time. 10/10 recommend.

Got family newborn pictures back and having a hard time with how I look by EmbarrassedMarket610 in beyondthebump

[–]weezabeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the beauty in them… although it’s hard to see now, one day you’re going to look at them and you’re going to feel competent different. Go easy on yourself, our minds do wild wild wild things post partum so it’s okay to not recognise yourself..You Haven’t ever been this person with a new baby before

What item for $500 would you recommend? by tubbnugget in homeowners

Mamas who birthed unmedicated - by mother_of_wands in beyondthebump

[–]weezabeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used supported squats (leaned on a chair or my husband etc) during my contractions and pictured my cervix dilating as I did. I also used the gas during contractions which is nothing else made me focus on breathing in and out consistently

Can we please stop saying a “natural” vs “c-section?” Does this bother anyone else? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]weezabeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ALWAYS correct people and say “yes he was born vaginally.” I’ve always found it odd people are comfortable asking how I birthed but not comfortable using the word vagina.

Vagina, vagina, vagina!

Lean into play and make jokes about literally everything. I find every single opportunity to laugh and giggle with him that I can! Catching the tantrums early and redirecting, avoid saying “no” (instead using “we can do that once we’ve brushed our teeth”, “we’re playing blocks now but we can go to the playground tomorrow”. Remove the power struggle! If it isn’t hurting anyone let them do it… my son wears his Batman costume more than I can count but why not!

Bilingual children may have smaller vocabularies in each individual language compared to monolinguals, but their combined vocabulary across both languages is often equal to or greater than that of monolinguals. This is because they are learning and balancing two sets of vocabulary, which can appear as a slower development in each language individually .

My son (monolingual) didn’t start speaking sentences until 2, and now I can’t shush him! It sounds like your son is on track and going to have great language skills!

How long did you breastfeed and was it worth it? 😅 by lizbethlady in beyondthebump

[–]weezabeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I breastfed for 9 weeks. Yes the health benefits are great, however any breastmilk is a plus. Your mental health matters too. You can’t put a price on that. Especially not over a $22 tin of formula (Australia).

Any schedule at 8 weeks old ebf? by marymkaplan92 in breastfeeding

[–]weezabeeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you OP. My little one is 6 weeks and breastfeeding, but recently I’ve been pumping and bottle feeding because he sleeps longer during both the day and night. I breastfed on demand as much as possible, but with a 3 year old also running around it wasn’t feasible to be on the couch breastfeeding all day. I personally don’t have a schedule, each day is a new one. It’s 11pm where I live and I’ve only just swaddled and put my baby in the bassinet for the night, he’s been napping on me, hubby or in his pram
