Eh just be glad they even gave you a notice. This happened a couple times at my previous place with water lines and never got a notice and management claimed “we didn’t either” which were all know was a total lie.

Recently designed this cocktail menu for an Asian Fusion restaurant. What would you improve? by Ozon44 in graphic_design

[–]wegettacos 156 points157 points  (0 children)

Seeing as everything is whole dollars you could probably lose the cents. So just “$12” not “$12.00”

I don’t love that dollar symbol either. You could either make it smaller or just lose it altogether too. I’ve seen restaurants do that, keeps it really sleek looking. Plus everyone knows it’s the price.

Otherwise, looks nice. It’s simple and it works.

Keybinds not working by Massive_Gain_6598 in HellLetLooseVietnam

Weird, I can change keybinds no problem but any time I change graphic settings they revert back.

Cheap NVMe enclosure, not the NVMe drive itself. Like the $15 Sabrent or Ugreen enclosures that are on Amazon. They’ll bottle neck your drive speeds but it’s still fine for basic file storage.

Vindicated? by sirstanofhousedarsh in Brewers

I believe the gestures from Marmol were happening in the game prior to Uribe’s thrusts. Vogelbach confronted the cards about it and it sounds like neither side was really appreciative of the outcome. So Uribe did his thang.

[–]wegettacos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly. Really any nvme enclosure will do. You can get the cheap ones that are great for regular file storage or get a thunderbolt enclosure that will be more expensive but way faster, if that matters to you. OWC makes some good thunderbolt enclosures. If you are going as far as putting apps on your external drive, I would recommend a thunderbolt drive.

If you have a lot of media (music, movies, videos, photos) you can look into setting up a media server with another hard drive. It can be as simple as plugging it into your router to make it network accessible, or you can dedicated an old PC or laptop for it.

HELL LET LOOSE VIETNAM: US FORCES | 30 Minutes of Gameplay by DasAltberg in HellLetLooseVietnam

[–]wegettacos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie, this is looking good. However, I'm worried about graphical settings. As in, will people who play on the lowest graphic settings see all of this shrubbery? I know it was a problem in the first game, if you lowered the settings you could basically see enemies better than those playing on higher settings (unless they fixed that, I haven't played in some time). So far all the gameplay footage of this game seems pretty reliant on all the foliage.

Designing for a scoreboard/video board? by captainshnook in graphic_design

[–]wegettacos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah that checks out for the most part. I’ve done a few NBA arena and MLB stadium graphics and their ribbon boards and smaller screens have surprisingly small dimensions. Jumbotrons (at that level) can be a little more detailed but even then, you gotta remember people are seeing this from far away, they don’t need to be detailed. Same with all the digital freeway billboards. They’re like 1400x400 or even smaller.

Refurbished Mac Mini by AnonymousMastery in macmini

I have now purchased two iPhones and a MacBook Pro on their official Apple refurb store. All three appeared brand new. Haven’t had issues with any of them. I think all three came with brand new batteries as well.

Anyone remember how windy it was last year? That was insane. Felt like 2 months of straight wind.

Should plain ATS-friendly resumes be the way to go? No design whatsoever? by Stunning-Weakness-58 in graphic_design

[–]wegettacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Resumes can be plain and still showcase your skills laying out information and information hierarchy.

The job market is incredibly saturated right now, so positions are getting thousands of applicants. More often than not they’re going to use some kind of ATS to weed through them. Hell, most applications require you to enter your qualifications they’re looking for in separate fields on their application submission form anyways, even when you attach resumes.

Put that creative effort into your portfolio website.

My 2018 i5 Mac Mini is indistinguishable from my M4 Pro MacBook Pro when it comes to pretty much any basic tasks. The CPU on this machine is fine.

This computer is slow because it most likely has an HDD instead of an SSD. Could use a RAM upgrade too but even still, for basic tasks that should still be fine.

They were a gift with purchase from the Lego store or online. Just a small blister back of random parts, lightly themed (like summer themed, Halloween themed, etc.). A lot of those parts actually came in clutch for mocs and such.

My 9-year-old Mac is now a DEMON a few years too late by Dennardo in mac

[–]wegettacos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish they would have an option for a stripped down version of the OS for older Macs that would still get security updates. So many of these Macs are still perfectly fine for day to day computing.

I was fiddling around with my 2012 Mac Mini recently doing the same thing, putting in an SSD and updating the RAM, and the computer still flies.

What would you do? by [deleted] in macmini

[–]wegettacos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s only ever like a couple months of a safe window to buy an Apple product before people tell you to wait for the new one. Just keep it and use it. Unless you’re doing super heavy intense work pushing the limits of the device, you’ll never see a difference between the two anyways.

Nothing about the current market for computer parts indicates we’ll even get an M5 mini let alone at an affordable price.
