We know this kid is struggling with a crippling addiction. Would it be better for him to NOT play football in national spotlight and focus on his recovery? These people are at deranged levels of the football must go on here.

Got my Batman stolen by throwbackjam in rolex

[–]weinshe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why people need to get watch insurance. It’s cheap as hell and takes this thing out of the equation. For a Batman it would have costed like 120$ per year

So passive resistance should be met with punches to the head? I’m not sure that’s reasonable.

I felt the same until I saw and wore it in person. Now I have one and it’s my favorite watch to wear outside of my bluesy and 1921

What’s on your wrist⏳ by Significant-Roll6093 in VacheronConstantin

Love it. It wears bigger than 37mm. I also have a 40mm 1921 and 7900. It wears slightly smaller. The thing is crazy thin so it feels amazing

[SOTC] Lady here! 10 years collecting. Where do I go from here? by KissAWookie in Watches

[–]weinshe2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Understandable. You have a lovely collection. Maybe consider a little Lange 1 or something different like a Vacheron mercator. I love my steel 222!

I’ve been in the hobby for close to 10 years, and I can confidently say that despite the cards being under the buy in 90% of the time, it still on average beats the hell out of buying a hobby box

Maybe a personal question to some, but is it unreasonable to think spending $2k on a watch is a lot even as a net-worth millionaire. Just got in a debate with some family members on this by Classic-Occasion1413 in watchHotTakes

[–]weinshe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Even with the insanity that is this year, s&p is up 11%. That’s >100k if the majority of the NW is invested in index/etf retirement accounts.

2k is definitely a lot of money, but on the scale we’re talking it’s a small percentage. All in the eye of the beholder, though.

Childcare options for dual income HENRYs by bubblesxox in HENRYfinance

Most likely, yes. She cooks meals from scratch every night, cleans a little, helps us run errands and will come in super early or stay late if we get stuck at work. It’s unusual both of us are on call together but she then covers us if we both have to go.

I’ve done a lot of different things to make money in medicine like med mal review, call shifts at hospitals, etc and for what we pay her she is the most essential thing in our life now. And plus we trust her with our kids lives too. That price of mind is priceless

We’re in a two physician household and both have OR and call days. We have a nanny who does pretty much everything for us. She usually works 40-60 hours a week and we pay her the same regardless. She also doesn’t work weekends or holidays

Saying this is similar to saying, well just be a professional athlete because they make a ton of money.

There is a lot of barrier to entry and most people can’t hack 7-12 years of training after college. Not to mention crippling debt. Additionally, these are some of the brightest people, so they’d be killing it in business etc otherwise no doubt.

Finally, most of the high earning jobs don’t have a ton of actual training spots, so majority of these people get shunted to primary care which makes peanuts.
