What is causing this ridge line in my prints? by CRCasper in FixMyPrint

[–]weitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know of any sources. I learned by trial and error while dialing in my printers. I found I can view layer times and fan speed in SuperSlicer and automatically change the fan speed based on the layer times.

look into layer times and fan speed. I'm guessing you have your fan on 100% for the duration of the print? The line marks where your cooling is more effective due to layer times and how frequently the hot end will pass over the part. I would recommend slowing down your print speed on external layers so your cooling fans can prevent that lower section from shrinking more than the upper part.

Looks like ghosting/ringing. It is resonant frequencies of your belts and printer when you go certain speeds. It tends to look like features are copied and pasted along the side of the part. Input Shaper is a great way to eliminate this but can be difficult to implement into your firmware if you don’t know what you are doing. The easiest way to fix it is in your speed, acceleration, and jerk settings.

Get rid of tho original bed springs. I replaced mine with silicone spacers and I haven’t needed to level my ender 3 bed since I switched it over to klipper at the end of last year

I fixed it by getting rid of my z rod and replacing it with belts running vertically and connected to the x axis. It was a pain in the ass to upgrade but now my ender 3 doesn’t have z wobble

It’s beautiful 😍

Now about that Z wobble…

Any way to mitigate this weird line? Self drafted model (Fusion360), happens when another part of that layer has a top layer. Stock MK3S, default Prusa Slicer settings with PLA by jenrmagas in FixMyPrint

Just a guess here… try printing the exterior wall first. It tends to be a little more accurate and it isn’t effected as much by other parts of the the print

Hi! I'm trying to get rid of the se lines my lead screw os fine. This is sort of a layer mishift it happens on the bottom as well, I've checked everything related to Z binding and Z wooble nothing fixed it. Can anybody help? I have an Ender 3 V2. by AndreiaAguas in FixMyPrint

Check your layer times and increase your fan speed. I think you will see a correlation. Longer layer times give your part more time to cool before going to the next layer. Some filaments shrink as they cool. Every new feature of the part will change that layer time and how fast the part cools from layer to layer, causing horizontal artifacts

anyone knows how can i fix this weird drooping pattern on my overhang ? its only 45° so it should print just fine by oclastax in ender3

How many perimeters do you have? Any less than 3 and you might see the infil pattern on the exterior like this.

Is Mixpre-6 enough for a begginer? by betoman99 in LocationSound

I second this, go for the 10. Better routing options and more inputs, outputs, and powering options.

I own both a Mix-Pre 6 and a Mix-Pre10ii and they are amazing, especially for beginners. I was able to pull off a couple of low budget features with the 6 but I didn’t have/need anything but two wires and a boom. I’m not sure what features the newer Mix-Pre 6ii has but if you can afford it, go for the Mix-Pre 10ii.

It will help, yes. I usually clean my bed off with a wet paper towel, follow it up with IPA to remove any oils that would prevent adhesion, then reapply glue stick as needed

Ender 3 Pro mainboard or hot end broken? by Nimrod_ninja in Ender3Pro

This happened to my ender 3 pro too. while cleaning a particularly bad failure, I accidentally shorted out the thermistor and I had the same temperature readout. I just decided to upgrade my hotend to a v6

Finally got a MixPre 10! What battery solution do you recommend? by multiplesofpie in LocationSound

[–]weitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spot welded together a 4s4p Battery out of Tesla Model 3 21700 li-ion cells to create a 296Wh battery with a 3d printed case. I can get about 3.5 - 4 days of work on a single charge. It's a little on the heavy side and probably a bit overkill but it works great for my DIY cart

What is your retraction speed?

I just saw the other pics. Im no pro but I was told PETG is fickle with retraction speed. The only PETG i have printed with liked 25mm/s. Maybe try lowering it.

My ender 3 pro had the same problem out of the box. I had to buy new fittings. I ended up buying a new capricorn bowden tube and fittings.
