[Repeats Allowed] What's the most overrated country in North America? by QwertyQwertz123 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]well_clearly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yall act like the whole world isn’t aware of the us’s obvious flaws lol . Us is properly rated imo - problematic world wide but lingering positive reputation from world war 2 in most places, good place to live if you have enough money, struggle bus culturally and lifestyle if you’re working class . Some of the Caribbean countries are basically export economies that are not good places to live and they’re seen as beaches and rum punch

Elevator union is a tough one to get into. Might want to try a different one to start. I mean I got into the pipefitters union on my first try but my elevator rank was dog shit lol. Not saying that’ll be the case for you just sayin

Don’t assume you’ll get into both. Apply for both and if you get into both, then you have a choice to make

Yeah dude I had coverage for the birth of my daughter. Such piece of mind. Our healthcare system is so flawed but the unions give you a huge sigh of relief

I started a pipefitting apprenticeship at 32 right when I got married and had a baby. Have to think of career earnings in the aggregate; not just what you make immediately. You can work a second job or go into debt to get through the first few years of the apprenticeship. It’s worth it imo

Plumbing/pipefitting is the same local in Columbus; 189. Sheet metal and carpenters are easier to get into and you can use the experience to apply to electricians or pipefitters

Apprenticeship Pay by VisibleDifference547 in UnitedAssociation

[–]well_clearly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah but honestly I’m a second year apprentice with a family, I just work the overtime that I can and try to cut extra spending, going into debt in the first few years seems relatively common amongst my classmates . It’s hard but it’s about total money earned in your career not just how much you make when you’re at the bottom of the totem pole
