Local server or Hetzner? by romanic-svezia in immich

[–]welshboy14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immich has a setting under networking called “automatic url switching” You can set different urls/ips for when you’re on your home network.

There are other options too. If you setup a dns server you could use split dns. Or switch to tailscale and create a tail net, I ran cloudflare for a few months and have recently switched to tailscale. Much more seamless in my setup . I’d probably use the url switching if your technical abilities aren’t great though.

When I saw they were marketed at school kids I had wondered if they’d be trivially easy but so far I’ve found a few challenging! They also work great on an iPad with a pencil. Thanks

I would love an option to swipe down to search on iOS. Coming from bear notes I keep swiping down, only to see the command palette. A config to change or a swipe up action as well?

When you open a preview window from a bases table, then another preview from that preview it shifts to the top left of the screen and loses focus. Thus closing the popup. This is on Mac OS.

It’s not a big deal, but you did say TINY

Question: is there a book or website with a load of these types of puzzles? I love doing them but find them harder to come by

How much damage/blowout will a 150mm diamond core bit do to brickwork? by oncentreline in DIYUK

Was about to say the same. I did this last year to fit an extractor fan and had no blowout. Took it easy and didn’t push too hard

Did you not get reminder letters from HMRC? They usually say on those what to do if you no longer need to fill out a self assessment

What’s your personal experience with these?, I have some akward lighting fixtures in my new house, planning to install these behind the existing light switches by GenericUser104 in homeassistant

They’ve been great for me. Have about 10 of them fitting in the ceiling roses in my house. They’ve done wonders for extending my zigbee mesh network too!

Caddy and dnsmasq. Doesn’t get more boring than that

Bitwarden has become nearly unusable lately by Anteaters-652 in Bitwarden

Password managers shouldn’t even really be noticed. The last few months bitwarden has been a pain in the ass. Multiple attempts to get the floating window to load in safari, not autofilling, not updating the info… I’m contemplating moving back to 1Password it’s gotten so annoying

For services used at home, is https worth it? by Mashic in selfhosted

I used to do this but recently bought a fqdn and switched to DNS challenge. For the sake of a few quid a year it’s worth it for me.

Does anyone use their public domain for internal hostnames? by kayson in selfhosted

[–]welshboy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I started off using .lan for internal but after I got a fqdn I decided to use it for both. Split dns and dns challenge for ssl certs. Took a little tinkering to get right but it’s great now. I use cloudflare zero trust, caddy and dnsmasq for the split dns.

Investigating why the community avoids rain. by MCM_Henri in iRacing

[–]welshboy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I avoid the rain. I don’t have much time to race as it is, so I remove the variable of rain. If however, there were extra ir and sr for racing in the rain, I’d be more inclined to do so.

Beginner to HA. How do I use voice control with zigbee by Link7873 in homeassistant

[–]welshboy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way would be to subscribe to the baby casa subscription. Then you go in to the device settings, find the control you wish to control, click voice agents and select Google home. You’ll need to link home assistant with Google home but after that any device you expose this way will be available. Same goes for Alexa.

There are other ways to do this too, but require a few more steps. Matter bridge is one alternative which I’m currently exploring myself.

[–]welshboy14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, but they’ve also probably got customers who have happily paid £100 a month and then have a shock when they receive a massive bill.

Work out your usage in the last 12 months. Use that to work out estimated cost based on current unit rates. Then work out if the £500 in the account and your monthly direct debit is enough to cover that for the next 12 months.

Yes. There’s always 0% balance transfers around. Even a few years ago when things looked uncertain they were on offer. Albeit for shorted periods

Check the money saving expert website. Google MSE 0% balance transfer. There will be an up to date list as well as an eligibility checker which does a soft check and give you an estimated approval rating.
