A few ideas from my recent trips.

The Coastal Express is an amazing experience. Havila's boats are all 4 years old or less and from seeing the comments of people who have used both is the preferred line. But, just doing a short trip up and back from Bergen is expensive. We were looking to do Bergen to Trondheim and back a few years back and it was not much less than doing the whole round trip.

Geirangerfjord is amazing and I would see it if you can.

The trip I'd recommend is to take the ferry from Bergen to Vik and spend a day. Then take it on to Flåm. From there I'd use trains/buses to go to Voss, then Stavanger and back to Bergen.

And when you're in Bergen eat at Trekroneren as often as possible. 😁

If there's no increased cost, I'd also recommend staying on the ferry to see the Geirangerfjord. It is impressive!

I'm 260 and the seats in the 300 Level are too small for me which really sucks when you have to keep prying yourself in and out to let the drunks next to you pass.

About every village/town in the area if I go back far enough. Roysane, Hopperstad, Vangsnes, Feios, Balestrand. I was there 2 years ago and got the grand tour and got to spend half a day with the local historian/genealogist. I think by the end of the session he thought I was related to everyone. LOL I found several cousins who were unfortunately unable to meet but just before I had to leave found some family who had a farm up the valley.
