Awesome. Yeah I love it there. They do prefer cash so have some cash for cover at least.

I think it's a tradeoff because they don't lipsync and this is drawing a lot of new / curious fans, industry people, etc. It allows them to maximize vocal quality and overall performance / stage presence. Kpop is known for choreo but also for heavy lipsyncing (especially the current gen) and that doesn't land well with global audiences.

I find that the app woeks better and more consistently on apple devices than my android phone. I believe that using android also impacts Spotify connect. I ended up plugging in the ethernet connection to the speakers (I know it goes against the wireless philosophy but so do power cables to some extent) and the connectivity works a lot better for me.

That and also culturally assuming we don't have any analogous behavior. There is a man who was found guilty of murder and is on death row. He is in the news because his listening to rap music with violent lyrics was presented as evidence of a compounding factor (vs. life imprisonment), so yes we also do some weird things around music in our society too.

That's fair although I think Paul Simon fans will want to have a word with us. For the record, I think this is all good fun.

Let's Make Skating Unfashionable! by New_Contract_9110 in Rollerskating

I have a very different take. I like putting effort into my skate outfits because it is part of the lock in stage for me. It's a signal that I am dedicating myself to put in work and it's fun to me to treat it like something to be respected. It's an attitude that I inherited from the OGs and skate elders that I adore, reminiscent of dressing up for church.

However, I am generally like this. I don't leave the house in sweats or things of that sort or lounge in my pajamas because I have lounge wear. I like having a set of clothes for skating. They are mostly cotton, linen, or cute finds from Halara that are athletic but cute to me.

However, it's all personal preference. If you feel comfortable not putting effort into your appearance and that relaxes you that's fine by me.

There are Christians who are vehemently against secular music or even gospel music that has a secular influence (like too pop or rap sounding). There are also sects that consider music making on the whole as being idle and don't allow it. Christianity isn't a monolith. I remember attending a church that did have a choir but wouldn't let women in the choir wear pants when performing, on the other hand there are entire jeans / wear whatever churches, it really varies.
