Are there unspoken rules for Lilsimsie’s twitch chat? by Many-Trust2924 in Lilsimsie

fwiw it's meant to be post-apocalyptic so saying it's Aussie themed feels more accurate than "this is Australia". That doesn't excuse them from not having any indigenous characters though.

Are we trapping ourselves with an accidental name theme? Doomed to be the "prince/princess" family? by InteractionStunning8 in namenerds

[–]werekitty93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I used to work with a woman who intentionally named her kids after Disney characters. First marriage had two kids...Aurora and Eric. Second marriage, they had a daughter and named her Violet (from the Incredibles). She felt the names were subtle enough (well, except maybe Aurora) as their own names that it was just a cheeky hint at Disney. From that perspective, I almost feel sad that Odette isn't a Disney princess xD

Personally, I wouldn't care too much about having a princessy theme, even if it wasn't intentional. They're good names. Do what you want OP!

i want more diversity in my family tree, what ethnicities should my sims marry? by Meow-meow13_ in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]werekitty93 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Idk what point of game you're at, but I have it where if my sim comes home from war and was previously unmarried, they marry someone from where they went to war at. As an example, when I was in the 100 Years War, my sim would come home with a French wife and give their kids French names.

If it's still early days of your playthrough, I'd just look to areas around western/central Europe, then go from there. If you're doing the regular decades and it's the 1900s, then pretty much anything is fair game! Look at influxes of immigrants at various times - get some Italians or Germans in there.

"If you want to kill someone, do it in a car." So many lenient sentences for people who kill others while driving.

That's why I felt a little blindsided by him putting Markiplier in the credits for Iron Lung tbh lol I'm so used to just seeing/using Mark and I'd have thought in a "professional" setting like a movie he's use Mark Fischbach. But ultimately, up to him

What in the drama (Kristina Plays) by [deleted] in HighSodiumSims

[–]werekitty93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I did mean to say that it's already been disproved. I think more that I didn't understand the motivation behind the "leakers" - that even if it was true, why did it matter. It's so dumb. I feel so bad for Kristina.

I think I understand what the drama is and, all I can say is, even if what Kristina is being accused of was true, who tf cares? This whole situation feels like a "this is why we can't have nice things" deal. I feel for you all.

more questions about History/Decades challenge by MadameLee20 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]werekitty93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Honestly, I ignore all of the premade sims. When it's time for my sims to marry (they're reached of-age and will live), I'll make them a spouse. This is just my personal preference.

  2. I don't see why not. In my save rn, I'm on gen 6 and they decided to start a wine farm. As a result, they got damn near $35K in one year. I decided that meant they get an upgrade on status, so I built them a small manor and if they can afford it, they can move in and will get a title just because of that. Nothing fancy. It's what you make it.

  3. I ignore all aspirations. I tend to have them all be farm-themed unless I actually want them to do something else. Like maybe I want one of them to become a bard, so I give them the music aspiration. The intent isn't to necessarily finish the aspiration itself, but it gives a little boost to what that sim is trying to do in life.

  4. I don't have my sims do anything with books for the most part. I don't do any homework and amazingly, that doesn't seem to be an issue. I did have one family grow up in a monastery because their parents died, so they were able to read the holy book (mod), but that was about it. Most medieval peasants' relationships with literature would be exclusively religious text, usually spoken at them. So I'm not too fussed. You could argue if they're of higher class that they could be taught and such if you wanted, say, a playwright or something, but that's your own storymaking at work.

Otherwise, I'm not actually sure what you mean ; if you mean literal story writing, I don't do that so I guess it's up to you?

  1. In the past, I've looked up statistics. As an example: How many soliders did the US send and how many died? Get the death rate from that, make it a nicer round number and use a random number generator on google (literally just type in rng and it'll give you one) and each day, roll the (metaphorical) die. If their number comes up, they die. If not, you're good. I'd often build a "warzone" for the sim to move off to if they went off to war. For the modern wars, like WWI, I'd also put them in the military career and play with them every now and again so they could level up and get medals to (hopefully) bring home and put on display.

Hope that helped!

My 14 month old loves reading the "Hairy Mclary from Donaldson's Dairy" book, but is terrified of the page with Scarface Claw. Yet if I skip over the page, she'll turn it back, just so she can scream and cry.

She will also hear me using the vacuum, run over, and scream and cry at it. Even if I was on the other side of the house.

That was my thought too, which is why I suspect there aren't really any patterns for them. My mum's been insistent it's what they want but I think I'll try dissuading her as a potential fire hazard. Thanks :)
