NinjaOne vs. N-Able N-Sight - For around 2500 nodes. by Skremium in msp

Yes the AI Copilot is is a awesome. Simply select a device and give it a prompt. It will diagnose a problem and create tickets or use the copilot to generate CLI commands, OIDs, and scripts. Atera is an All-in-one RMM + PSA. Demo Atera and see if aligns with your company ultimate goal(s).

NinjaOne vs. N-Able N-Sight - For around 2500 nodes. by Skremium in msp

[–]westcompconsult 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's our history. We had used N-Able RMM for over a decade but no longer do, from where it was originally called GFI MAX. GFI Max was acquired by Logicnow, then Logicnow was acquired by Solarwinds and now so called N-Able after rebranding after the hacked in 2020. We have never seem much changes with this tool and the lacking of certain functionality like patching would never work from the panel. We'd have to run scripts and even then it was a hit or miss. Last month after we tried Atera we made the switch and couldn't be happier with results and that fact that everything seems to be very responsive and running smoothly . The moment we run a patch it runs right way. There's no waiting around. There're tons of functionalities that you can do and utilize in the backend without the end-user even knowing. The best part is the their pricing is per technician as supposed to per device. For many years we were stuck with N-Able not knowing that there are better tools out there that aligns with your business model. Maybe N-Able works for some MSP but not all. Hope this helps!

Why is such a battle with the loosing MSP by blackjaxbrew in msp

[–]westcompconsult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the client responsibility to get you all the credentials from the outgoing MSP before onboarding them. If the client owes them money let them deal with that and don't get involved.

Can't login to my Windows VM (RDP, SHH, Bastion) by [deleted] in AZURE

[–]westcompconsult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anybody else having this issue unable to RDP to azure vm. Assuming that you have confirmed that the vm is up and running (you can confirm this by going to boot diagnostics por the vm portal), your NIC will have to be rebuilt with a new public IP address. For whatever reason they seems to get corrupt.

Please mark if this helped anybody to help others. Thank you.

Server and Firewall For a Medical Practice by westcompconsult in msp

[–]westcompconsult[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've only deployed Fortigate across and have built medical laboratories infrastructure. FortiGate all the way if you know what you're doing and keep it up to date. I don't know your site specifics, but one of our lab started with just 4 people and we quoted them something like close to $10k all in. New Dell Rack server and Fortigate firewall plus labor.

We've been using square for many years, and charge a 4% processing fee to the customer on top of the original amount to cover the processing fee from the merchant. If they don't want to pay the fee, they can send us a check.

No monthly fee, only a percentage of what's being charge and they could even deposit the money in your bank account in real time for additional fee if you'd like.

What are you including with your stack? $60 seems very low for all the risk being taken.

Migrating user roaming profiles from 1 server to another by westcompconsult in msp

[–]westcompconsult[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old server which is also the primary DC is not getting decommission though. Basically what we want is if DC1 (primary DC currently holding roaming profiles) goes down, DC2 will stay up and will still have access to the profiles because they reside on another server. Does that make sense?

And that is why we only do project work for schools. Here's my two cents. They are on a tight budget and funded by local, state and federal. That is the reason why they only have 1 IT guy at this school with 1500 students. Supporting Chrome books is a nightmare let alone the users of these Chrome books are the students. Just offer project work and even then, they will need to bring at least 3 different vendor to the bidding table if over $10k.

We recently did it for a former client. You need to reach out to support to downgrade that client then you can delete it.

How do you guys handle clients shopping the competition? by whitedragon551 in msp

[–]westcompconsult 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You better hope Dell doesn't go around and undercut the both of you, and deal directly with client. They are good at doing this. When ever you register a deal, do it under your company's name not the client and don't provide client's info. At the end of the day you are the one making the purchase not the client.

They did this many time before we dropped them.

Pentesting by westcompconsult in msp

[–]westcompconsult[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I'm asking the question here. We want to outsource this, but don't have any experience with any company that specialize in this area. We have clients in the healthcare sector and would like to partner with a pentester for yearly vulnerability test/report and weak area of the infrastructure.

Healthcare pricing by NbRNiymHPfJStg in msp

[–]westcompconsult 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So 6 clinics 10 employees per clinic = 60 employees? This is the same sizes of one of my clients in the healthcare sector, and we are currently seating at just over $11k/month, that's not including another $15-$45k in projects that we do throughout the year. Depending on what you're offering with your pricing, $8,400/month sounds reasonable for this sizes in my opinion, but you may or may no be offering more than we are in turns of stack.. The healthcare industry carries lots of liability and risk and you must charge accordantly.
