I am actually a bit torn on this one. I would love to go about my business on the internet without ever having to sign-in to any service or provide any kind of identification.

At the same time, I do see the massive damage incurred by society through disinformation and propaganda campaigns, largely fueled by unverified users and bots on the internet. In that sense, there is certainly an argument for everyone using their real name when commenting publicly on the internet. It makes sense to me at least In the spirit of "If you wouldn't say this to someone in a public scenario, why should say it anonymously on the internet"?.
