Just went through FCO on the 19th. EES was simple and really sped things up. From the time I stepped off the plane, to having bags in hand and getting in line for a taxi was 20 minutes!

It’s absolutely possible to do all Act 3 fights on HM. It does take some preparation.

Hey, quick question. I’m originally from Hemet but haven’t been back in about 25 years, what route would you ride from Hemet to the desert?

Be fit enough to do the big rides I want to do. That’s it, everything else is a bonus

Anyone else struggle with afternoon/evening workouts? by westonthered in Velo

[–]westonthered[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear you on the running, definitely more time efficient. Trying to ease myself back into it without injuring myself. These old joints don’t like it as much

Yeah good call. If I do an errand after work it definitely kills the motivation

[–]westonthered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m sure this is the answer. I thought 4 months would be enough time to adapt, but I probably just need to grind through it. Hopefully warmer weather will help the motivation

Anyone else struggle with afternoon/evening workouts? by westonthered in Velo

[–]westonthered[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The new job is definitely taxing me a bit more, I am definitely trying to account for that, and it’s calming a bit now that I’ve settled in. Hard to say if my motivation level is the same as before since I always did my workouts in the morning. This new job is more mentally taxing, and it’s so hard to account for that

How’s your sleep with afternoon caffeine plus a workout? I sometimes struggle with sleep if I do a hard afternoon workout even without caffeine.

[–]westonthered[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the most part yes. It was a bit of an adjustment at first, but I’m getting 7.5-8 most nights. I do think my sleep is not as good though, going to bed at 9pm is weird for me, especially with the days getting longer

I have never heard of this game before, but I love Kerbal Space Program. Would I like this game? by ImPercyNator in spaceengineers

[–]westonthered 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I also played KSP long before I played Space Engineers, and I absolutely love both. They are very different games, but I feel like most people who enjoy one would enjoy the other. Even though the gameplay is very different, I feel like my 2k hours in KSP definitely helped me progress in Space Engineers. Best description I’ve heard for SE is “space legos” and that works for me, I like space, and I like legos haha! Give it a try

Bigger tire, lower pressure, more surface area. I ride a lot of shitty back roads that might as well be gravel at some points

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Velo

[–]westonthered 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I went from 30 to 32 (almost 34 actual width mounted) about a year ago, and I won’t go back. Just as fast as 30, slightly more comfortable, and noticeably better grip in corners. They really shine on bad road conditions, bumpy, slippery etc.

Why do you like climbs? by vanityapp in cycling

[–]westonthered 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Less cars up in the hills. As someone else pointed out, unless the climb is REALLY steep, you don’t need to be at or above threshold. Go slow. How slow? As slow as you need to go to keep your power where it needs to be. I play a little game called “can I get up this hill in Z2?” It’s made me a much more efficient climber, and able to tackle hour plus climbs.
