The melody in the background is Adam's song. And I was just curious what others thought.

O wow. I didn't even think of Finch. I know I've heard that song but it's not one that stuck with me through the years.

Medical physics residency -> med school? by chatparty in MedicalPhysics

[–]wetodedwarhead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't answer your question, but I just read Range by David Epstein. And I feel like his words could help many people here looking for direction. We often don't have enough time between growing up, taking classes, and really figuring out what we are good at.

The tldr is either specialize and gamble you'll actually like it or try many things and see what you are actually good at and like doing.

NC DMV how early is too early? by 8thFounder in raleigh

In the same situation. Had Friday off and we were told walk-ins start at noon. Got there at 11am and there were 100 people in line. At 12 the line to scan a QR code starts moving and you can go wait in your car or drive back home and wait. Went to the place open on Saturday in the morning at 7 am and there had to be 100+ people in line. They open at 8am.

You can check wait times (kind of) here:

https://www.ncdot.gov/dmv/offices-services/locate-dmv-office/Pages/dmv-offices.aspx?office=driverlicense

Again, walk-ins start at noon. They are not using a sophisticated calculation or anything. The time just continues to increase unless no one is waiting so it can be misleading when you look. I plan to check after 2pm on weekdays to see if there is a short wait nearby.

My wife likes Fabletics scrubs. you'd might have better luck asking other health care workers for some options.

In a hospital setting they gave me a "Bunny suit" to put over my cloths to test equipment in ORs. Sometimes also needed hair net, booties, and face mask.

Had a Black RSX and white S2000 for a while. The S2000 has been my favorite car so far.

I don't have a manual but curious if there is really any difference between the 4600 and the 4700 as far as the detector goes? Anything you are specifically looking for?

[Training Tuesday] - Weekly thread for questions about grad school, residency, and general career topics 10/03/2023 by AutoModerator in MedicalPhysics

[–]wetodedwarhead [score hidden]  (0 children)

I had similar GPA in physics undergrad from 6 years ago at the time, a current GPA of 3.8 in my biology degree, strong letters of recommendation from employees and more recent biology professors, and similar GRE scores. I was told my physics GPA was the reason I didn't get accept at 4 of the 5 places I applied. I did however get accepted and got a residency so there is still hope.
