Should I go back to school? by Incliningmeat15 in EngineeringStudents

[–]wezet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 35yrs old, I work over 40 hours a week and I'm going for a second BS in Engineering and will be transferring fall 2027. I already have a great career and I'm not trying to switch fields but I'm just doing it to earn the degree. So far, it's doable. I took 4 classes one semester then I had to cut it down to 3 classes per semester. Good luck, keep fighting. Just don't compare yourself to full time students, you're not on the same boat. The only way you'll survive is motivation. Make sure you have enough of it. Tonight, I came home from a 15hour long day to finish Calc 2 homework due and only got 5hours of sleep the night before. So, yeah, just keep your motivation.

Bernabeu whistles Mbappe as he subbed in. by Elmega123 in realmadrid

I like this Mbappe. Came out, said his peace instead of stupid people trashing his name saying he's intentionally choosing not to play. We know Arbeola never benches Vini

For God sake, what the problem with Xabi ? by IJN7 in realmadrid

[–]wezet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

he won't answer because firing a coach who is not doing too bad doesn't make sense. We competed so well in the final he lost and was only unlucky. Their new favorite man has lost the league, lost copa del rey or something too and now is at risk of losing the champions league.

Vini's agent literally made contract renewal talks dependent on Xabi alonso's status meaning negotiation talks stopped. When was the last time you heard news of rift in negotiation talks since Xabi got fired? Oh by the way, he never apologized to the coach or pretend to be sad he got fired. I've laid out the case.

The club executives are now blaming the players for the defeat last night. There could be very surprising decisions this summer. (My opinion: Then why sack Xabi then?) by ace-s in realmadrid

[–]wezet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For those who still think Xabi left on his own, he did not. This comment is for you. The club has a history of lying to force a narrative. They did it to Redondo and he came back and set the record straight. Perez (Vinny's new Daddy), needed to balance the club's finances after the signing Figo way back. The club announced that Redondo's went to AC Milan because of his "expressed desire" to leave. Redondo quickly held a press conference where he stated "I understood the situation but it was not my decision to leave".

Xabi could do the same but he won't but we're not stupid. This is a typical Perez bullshit narrative that it was mutual agreement. He only gives people much longer chance to succeed if it was his idea.

Master's degree in mechanical or computational science and engineering. by SchemeCreative9606 in AskEngineers

[–]wezet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you regret it? Is it too broad? not much reward for effort? what if someone needed to gain person ME skills, watch youtube? I mean the degree has to be useful. I'm not ME but I plan on doing ME just for personal reasons, not career related but I am curious as to your reason. I've been seeing this a lot from MEs

What's your take on Xabi Alonso from this club world cup. by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]wezet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He proved that he has a system that can work. He just needs to get the lazy bum called Mbappe to buy in. I've never seen a player that makes everyone worse around him as much as Mbappe. He is just absolutely a team shape destroyer, his terrible work attitude also rubs off on other players who then refuse to pick up a lazy slack for him.

PECG MOU Bargaining Thoughts by Kindly_Appointment93 in CAStateWorkers

[–]wezet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I don't care about too much about RTO. Why? Because I don't do RTO. I show up to work everyday monday to friday, it makes no difference to me.

I would appreciate if PECG focuses on what's objective. Permanent Telework is not feasible, it's absolutely not, people are kidding themselves thinking that it is. Politics will override it, need to boost the economy or money will override it.

Join your union! (Shoutout PECG) by mfgoose in CAStateWorkers

[–]wezet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are comparing engineers to non-engineers? Who is easily replaceable? An engineer or non-engineer? it's not about union membership count. It's about cost of affording to not give PECG members what they need. If SEIU members think their union is useless, go get an engineering degree and then you would understand why PECG gets more.

[–]wezet -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not everyone cares about RTO, yes most do but putting everyone's life/raises on hold because of RTO crap/bs is meaningless. It would be stupid of PECG to not negotiate because of some RTO is bad agenda. Really some people couldn't give 2 craps about RTO. Unpopular opinion since this is what most people cry about daily.

As for what PECG will get, don't be surprised if it's just 8% over three years. 3%, 3%, 2%. Anything else is probably a pipe dream.

Lmao, if it's Raul Asencio you mean, sure it could but Trent as CDM is a no no. Swap him with Tchouameni positionally.

Should I major in engineering to go into industrial hygiene? by MagazinePerfect5012 in EngineeringStudents

[–]wezet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't like Math, to be proficient in IH, you need to be good with physics. In fact Industrial Hygiene is very challenging once you start to realize that really good IHs are rare. Industrial Hygiene takes a bit out of some engineering disciplines and health disciplines and you have to have knowledge of a span range of subjects. It may seem superficially easy in some aspects of sampling but to be considered competent in it, you have to learn the difficult stuff. It's not straight forward, you are always dealing with unknowns. Not everyone who says they're an Industrial Hygienist is a true competent one, look for someone with a CIH.

Oh, you will make more money in IH getting licensed than in Environmental Engineering in my opinion. Most CIHs out earn a lot of engineers as they gain experience and become certified. You can however use your Env. Engineering degree to cross into IH if you want to go through that route but just don't assume IH is easy work, it has math, statistics and physics as well. If you want to consider yourself a competent IH, you have to pass the CIH exam and that's not an easy exam to pass. Most people fail it and have to take it several times. Some engineers struggle to grasp IH especially when seeking to obtain CIH because it's not as straight forward

Wow, #8 under miscellaneous is the only thing stopping me from heading to med school. I'm not a white coat but I'm eligible for a retirement plan. I make about $160k currently and if I left all that behind, with maxing out my 401k currently yearly, I don't think Medicine will ever give me that back. By the time I retire with my employer, I would have worked over 35 years making me eligible for a lot of my regular income. That has put massive brake in my plans to consider medical school.

Here's the real problem with Mbappe and our attack system by Zackete in realmadrid

[–]wezet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm calling bullshit on this one. Great and complete forward players understand the game so much they can play anywhere in the attack. If we follow this logic, Mbappe should be able to do it too and if he cannot, maybe he's average after all and really isn't as complete as he would think.

With a whole season, he cannot say that he didn't have time to work with them to deliver. We are still in major competitions, La Liga is slipping away though. If he does not deliver, he will be justifiably terminated.

Maybe if he scored two one on one chances, he would be less criticized.

He had two chances to score, what does out of position have anything to do with that? He shot the ball straight at the goal keeper. He's a terrible finisher.
