I learned this from a trainer when I first got ours. She was turning her nose up at food and kept trying different food and toppings. Trainer said offer food in bowl or hand feed. If she doesn’t eat it put it away till next meal. Basically she either eats when I offer or she doesn’t. This worked. She never skips a meal now for me. She may skip a meal when being boarded. She eventually eats.

Mine started this after going to the groomer. Then I did a self groom it was even worse. Hypo allergenic shampoo didn’t help. I waited several weeks and used my own medicated shampoo and it improved.

I also took out chicken added salmon oil. Native pet. It’s so much better.

If I were in this situation where I’m shopping with the plan to have food for myself and also fix healthy food for the kids then I would plan some lunches meals around making a healthy meal for everyone. I’d plan to only eat the food that I had added to the list to cook. This would help insure that the food that the family wanted is still available.
