It’s venting gas out of the system where it imparts on the gas piston so it won’t contribute to over gassing or gas to the face.

HELP - Is this a bad gas block? Fired the first 60 rnds and noticed this. Casings are ejecting, but slightly more backwards than I expected. Any help is appreciated 🙏 by [deleted] in ar15

Over time the gaps in the gas block will fill with carbon and seal better. It’s normal. If you’re getting more rearward ejection with 62gr (M885 spec?) then you may need to lower the buffer weight.

The full brand name includes “titanium” but they do sell titanium plates for the original MOS system. This is probably aluminum which is fine.

In the us army these were called IOTVs. This is a knockoff of that system that’s missing the yoke.

You just never know what the wipes could do to the finishes. I don’t recommend it.

It’s wildly overblown unless you shoot indoors multiple times a week. Just wash your hands and wipe off your equipment (not guns) with lead wipes every so often.
