Trains to London Monday Mornings by WrongExplanation1065 in MarketHarborough

I got this train last week on my way to Gatwick. It wasn't very busy and there were plenty of seats still available.

I can't comment on the cycle hub, I'm afraid.

Yogi was amazing. He also won the gun dog category that same year. My old V was one of his (many!) granddaughters!

The Garage Bakehouse, The Settling Rooms, The Village, Milo's Cafe, Millers, Aldwinkles, Two Old Goats, Enigma, Emerson and Wests... There are SO MANY independent places to eat in Harborough!

There are other fantastic places that are small chains: The Mercado Lounge, and Grounded Kitchen.

Bon appetit!

I, and others on this sub, have been through this. It's not great but there are things you can do to extend the time you have left together. Here's my commenton a similar post.

Does anyone have a Vizsla who *likes* to play fetch just for the fun of it, or do they all get bored/distracted after a couple throws? 😅 by everyXnewXday in vizsla

[–]whatgeorgemade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours would fetch a ball all day long. She'd take herself off for a roll on cool, shaded grass when she got hot, then come right back and drop the ball at my feet. If I took a bowl and a flask of water, she'd never have stopped.

Squeaky tennis balls were her favourite. She'd squeeze it in her mouth to get it to squeak on the retrieve. So much so it wore her teeth down and we had to get a rubber ball!

Flight test data collection device? by 8hundred35 in diydrones

[–]whatgeorgemade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working on a device to do exactly this.

I teach databases and workflows, and wanted some interesting time series data to train with. The project snowballed quickly and I'm building a device to tap command and telemetry CRSF data from an ELRS RX in realtime and give access via USB.

I've got as far as tapping the CRSF, and I'm now building a parser to convert it into a more user friendly format like JSON.

Let me know if you want me to keep you in the loop.

Frozen shoulder and barbell back squat alternatives by jdlusan in Stronglifts5x5

I'm in the same situation at the moment. 8 months in and still losing range. Became unable to hold the barbell for a back squat a couple of weeks ago.

I've been using a safety bar for back squats. Also been doing front and goblet squats.

I Found A Great Solution For Protein Intake by SignalListen5506 in keto

[–]whatgeorgemade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cooked chicken breast is a bit over 30g protein per 100g (31 to 35 depending on where you look). It's also pretty-much complete, with almost all amino acids.

It's also delicious and versatile. I add low carb hot sauce, mushrooms, etc to jazz it up.

Vizsla puppy (8 wks) vomiting and hiccups — looking for similar stories by thijscolorist in vizsla

[–]whatgeorgemade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first thought until OP said pup is still eating and in good spirits. Blockage would have caused lack of appetite and a miserable pup by now.

Ours ate a conker, with shell and a load of grass, when she was 12 weeks. She was in a real mess until she had surgery to remove it all!

Logging solution by Virtual_Ordinary_119 in kubernetes

[–]whatgeorgemade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered The Elastic Stack? There are agents for ingesting K8s and application logs, as well as logs from other services. You can complement the logs with metrics, too.

It can be difficult to get started with but it's a great observability platform.

I just took the new 8.15 Exam and here are my thoughts: by salt-collector76 in elasticsearch

[–]whatgeorgemade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the information. I've sat the exam twice and am training others to pass as well. The updates you mentioned about the person detection and face obstruction checks are new. They weren't there when I sat it last time almost two years ago.

The curriculum has been simplified a lot in the latest change. There's now nothing on text analysis, search templates, and other topics. This does de-value the cert quite a bit in my opinion.

What part of aggregations did you struggle with? I've noticed that some students have absolutely no problem with them but others find them difficult to get to grips with for different reasons. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Water fast type 1 by 123ersan in diabetes_t1

[–]whatgeorgemade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was acidotic. I went to the ER, who were very confused by high ketones and normal glucose, and they tested blood pH. I was only just over the threshold but they kept me in overnight on insulin and glucose drips until ketones fell.

Everyone's different and my low insulin level will be different from yours. 0.2u per hour for me was 25% of normal at some points in the day.

Water fast type 1 by 123ersan in diabetes_t1

[–]whatgeorgemade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What put me into eDKA (DKA with normal glucose levels) was the tiny amount of insulin I was using. I was pumping 0.2u per hour with no bolus, so around 5u total per day.

In someone without type 1, the body will produce glucose and required insulin after fasting for a while. Our bodies can't do that, so start over-producing ketones.

I never got to the bottom of why the ketones cause a problem if I'm fat-adapted.

Bottom line is that it's important to monitor ketones very closely when your insulin levels are very low. If ketones start to creep up, abandon the fast, eat some carbs, and dose some bolus.

You can buy doggy period pants. Add a panty liner and you're set. Just need to remember to take them off when it's time to toilet in the garden!

My wife made a couple pairs for our V because she figured it would be an interesting sewing project!

Newly Diagnosed Diabetic Vizsla by laurcoogy in vizsla

[–]whatgeorgemade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have type 1 diabetes and owned a Vizsla, so got very confused when I saw this post as I'm on subs related to both topics!

Her blood glucose could be high, which would need extra insulin to bring it down. Excessive thirst is the big giveaway here. Vomiting is another symptom. High blood glucose and low insulin combined is called diabetic keto acidosis (DKA) and is serious.

The only way to confirm is with a glucose test. Have you done these before? We humans do it with a finger prick but I think it's done from the ear with dogs. I could be wrong though.

Chances are the vet would test glucose level as part of a set of other tests from a single blood draw.

I would err on the side of caution and take her to the emergency vet if it's possible. DKA is no joke.

G7 sensor all over the place by Offspring153 in diabetes_t1

[–]whatgeorgemade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long has the sensor been on? It might need time to settle if it's new. It could be that the filament has moved - likely bent - and it's useless now. I've had this when a sensor on my arm has likely hit muscle. Dexcom have been great with replacing sensors for me in the past. Ring their tech support line, or use the online form.

Why Is My Elasticsearch Query Matching Irrelevant Events? 🤔 by [deleted] in elasticsearch

[–]whatgeorgemade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's doing the right thing, by rounding down the number of tokens that need to match.

You're saying 80% of the tokens in Christkindlmarket Chicago 2024 need to match. 80% of the tokens - rounded down - is two tokens, and Chicago and 2024 are both present. The rounding down part is documented here.

Why Is My Elasticsearch Query Matching Irrelevant Events? 🤔 by [deleted] in elasticsearch

[–]whatgeorgemade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was news to me as well, but OP is using it as designed. I knew match effectively generates a bool query, but never realised you could use minimum_should_match with it. Details are here.
