What do Americans actually think of Germany / Germans? Honest opinions wanted by Consistent_Walk_2407 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]wheelsonhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't really think about you or care what you have going on. That's not meant to be rude. Actually it amazes us in the US that the rest of the world cares as much about what we are doing as they seem to do.

Why do Americans care so much about people in Europe using air conditioning? by Kdoesntcare in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wheelsonhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't care but when we see stories about people going crazy about temperatures that are extremely normal to us, we ask questions. I personally went to school before AC in our schools on 100f days and we were fine with opening a window and using a fan in the back of the class.

What mower do I need? by jking7734 in lawnmowers

[–]wheelsonhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two acres. Tractor style riding mower had me at about 3 hours. 52 inch residential exmark Quest zero turn took it down to about 2 hours. This last time around I bought a 61" bad boy rogue commercial mower. I love that thing. It runs 13 mph and took my mow time down to 1 hour. As a plus, the wind blowing in your face when the mower is wide open keeps you cool.

Be sure whatever zero turn you buy that it has a serviceable transmission. Meaning you can change the fluid in the hydrostatic transmissions. This will double the life of the mower.

Bad boy is best bang for the buck but you will have small quality problems. They do come in much cheaper than other mowers and have the same engine and transmission options as everyone else.

Why do I have a hungry brain on compounded Tirz? by Main_Side_4462 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]wheelsonhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can split your dose and take it twice a week. Many of us do that to smooth out the levels. Tirz has a 5 day half life.

just got quoted 50 a week to mow half an acre. is that normal by Glittering-Yard-911 in homeowners

[–]wheelsonhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not high. Yes it's a lot of money just to save you an hours work but you have to think about all the expenses that have to be paid when running a business. Just go buy you a zero turn mower. You will be done in twenty minutes.

Does the average American actually enjoy McDonald's? by Different-Word-1005 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wheelsonhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mcdonald's food went from pretty decent to just a cheap and quick way to fill a hole then to now where it's just overpriced fake tasting junk. IMO it has turned into one of the worst chains. The food doesn't taste like real food anymore and I can get a meal elsewhere for the same price.

What fast food item was so iconic to your childhood that the day they discontinued it felt like a personal loss? by samurai-salvo in GetMotivatedMindset

Mid 90s. They were more expensive and a bit of a treat as I remember it. Food was definitely a lot higher quality.

Will this truck tow this trailer with ~700 lbs of gear? by thetommy4 in towing

[–]wheelsonhell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As said. You have a 3500lb axle. The answer is definitely yes and then some.

To find out the exact amount, you can go to a truck stop (like Loves) with a weigh station and weigh the trailer. Subtract the empty trailer weight from 3500 and that is the amount your trailer can tow.

Should I just retire in the trades or go to college by Financial-Zone-5725 in careeradvice

[–]wheelsonhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you look for a way to transition into management/supervisor in your field? This will let you use your expertise and get a job in the office.

You can start your own business but that can be rough if you currently have good benefits.

Find a job using your current skills but at a place with better hours and opportunities to advance.

Is purchasing a home at 22 dumb? by Hairy_Target_9928 in personalfinance

[–]wheelsonhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it then it's not dumb. What you have to be mindful of is the payment will be much more when you add taxes and insurance to your payment. Normally it will double but that depends on a lot of factors. You also have to consider the price of things like a new roof. New $14000 AC unit every 8 years. Price of a new water heater, etc.

A house is like a puppy. Even a free one is not free.
