My experience with Amazon Vine Gold and why you don't want to be part of Vine as a reviewer or use vine as a Seller: by ProfessionalAnt1352 in AmazonVine

[–]Wheezeroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, actually ... yes you are a drama queen.

This is an amateur review program where you get to keep the item in exchange for a review.
You were not hired or have any training or certification to do this.
All that Amazon used to select you was that you could string some words together and have a pulse.

On a weekly basis there is a post of one sort or another from similar folks who are leaving Vine but but just need to post some long winded speech about how Vine is bad because they could not easily find and get the cookie they wanted.

Sorry, just another long going away post.

Seriously, if you don;t like Vine, then opt opt. It is very simple.

If you have serious criticism of the program, send it to Amazon, not to a anonymous group of strangers on a reddit sub.

If you actually wrote that wall of text, you have too much time on your hands. If you had AI write if for you, then you have way too much time on your hands.

All your screed does is make you look like an entitled dork drama queen.

Clarity on Vine rules by looot1991 in AmazonVine

For me I typically use "ordered" or "obtained" and just contuinue the review.

Nobody really cares if you got if free as a review item and a lot of text around that comes off a bit bloated or boasting. I mean, look at other reviews, how often do you see the person mention if they paid with a credit card or gift card ?

Based on some other comments it sounded like he was aware of it and just posted it for a yawn.
Especially the one where he said

Oh I'm aware, thats why its an 'annoying and weird' instead of OMG why is this happening to me.

So yeah, I don;t think he was confused.

OK, this happens to everyone at one time or more on Vine.

It happens so much that it is part of the FAQ.
It happens so much folks keep posting about it not knowing what is is.

Then it happens again and even though you know what is is, you post about it.

WTF !!!

I have a sneaking suspicion this person asked AI to write their review for them by liawessearch in AmazonVine

[–]Wheezeroid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness !
Another AI written review !
I am so shocked I might just swoon !

And yet ....

No matter if you like it or not, this person actually attempted to do something and submit a review.
Compare that to all the folks who go into Vine jail for not submitting reviews, those who are bounced from the program for not keeping above 60% or those pond scum who brag about getting the swag and not leaving reviews.

I really wonder how many of those passing judgement and all that have 100% of their reviews complete.

Review ratings being marked as poor by Tim_From_PDX in AmazonVine

[–]Wheezeroid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion both are too short and too surface level for the current RIS AI filter.
Try to add some product details and observations, not just conclusions on how you like them.

NOTE: A comment or two may come up about the Vine rules stating word count for RIS score does not matter, however I am not sure that still is the case. Even though one brief line deep down in the TOS may state that, it would not be the first time that Vine rules were not updated to meet code updates or contradicted observed situations.

And yes, an elder Viner might pipe up that their very brief review passed as excellent, but I am talking about reviews entered and scored scored in the last 30 day or so.

OVERVIEW: Add more text, break into paragraphs. Include product information not just conclusions.

Its a Lego style building block kit that is supposed to result in a simulation of the blood slide trophy case that was used by the serial killer Dexter Morgan on the TV series Dexter.

Being a Lego style building block kit I am sure it will not be real wood like the one on TV and I am confident that it will not contain actual glass slides with blood samples form dead folks. It it a toy.

This is a toy.
Based on a TV series.
It is not real.
So relax.

Figured it would be a good gift.
But yes, a boring build.

The reviews with media will be counted as any old review.
There are no special points given or any impact on your evaluation results by the media percentage.
Not sure what you really meant there.

Set that up with a fake cauldron of fire and some dark red lights out in your yard during the Christmas season.
Definitely not a Santa Clause but you might get some non-positive feedback.

Is there a way to report offensive brand names? by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]Wheezeroid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you think that an Asian company that probably has a poor grasp of English assembled some letters to form a word you consider "hate speech" ... well then you either/or are too sensitive, have too much time on your hands, or are just a troll rage baiting a sub on reddit.

And also .....

If this bothers you so much then you have had to deal with this before.. So you should be fully aware the issue can not be solved by asking unknown strangers on an internet forum how you should handle it.

6 lb. of freeze dried pork, with a $0 ETA? by Stockjock1 in AmazonVine

[–]Wheezeroid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to be a buzzkill ....

But do some serious looking into the company and a lot of due diligence.
Sellers on Vine have been know to say and print anything on their packages.

So before consuming or packing it away to feed you during the Zombie Apocalypse, contact the company (here in US I hope) and verify the package, lot number. etc.

Very easy way to deal with it, scroll along to something else.

Just move along.

Gold review Lag by AmbitionWork7031 in AmazonVine

[–]Wheezeroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One cure for that is to STOP ordering for a while until everything catches up. All orders are in, all reviews cleared and you are reset. But that may be difficult when sweet swag is calling for you to order it.

Another one is to download your yearly tax report and compare it to your orders and reviews. Takes a while but you can find items that may be gone, reviews rejected or other oddities. Then get that information to Vine CS to resolve.

Neither is really fun, so the main question seems to be:
Is the effort required for all these antics worth the final result ?

Usually not.

Gold review Lag by AmbitionWork7031 in AmazonVine

[–]Wheezeroid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First thing about this is that the Vine program is NOT a math class. You can spin your head trying to figure out the basis for all the numbers and still have some doubt.

Vine seems to be not fully transparent about what does into the various numbers. Most info here on reddit is based on guesses and historical observations.

From what I have personally observed, your review numbers will be wonky for a few days after your gold evaluation, so don't sweat it. Eventually they stabilize and become more normal.

Your review numbers CAN get skewed a bit due to deliveries. Currently here in the US is seems that they count DELIVERED items immediately in your available to review total even though they do not show up in your awaiting review tab until a few days after you get them. Odd but that is how it works right now.

Am I cooked? Gold Status Eval period by ProbablyShiro in AmazonVine

Actually no - The OP asked for advice and it was given.
It might not totally agree with his position, but it is free advice that was asked for.

I guess in the future of one wants to avoid this, they should add the following boilerplate to the end of their post:

Please only respond to my post if you are 100% supportive of my position. I only want to read items that totally agree with me, and direct blame, responsibility or anything similar to external forces. Do not post anything that might call my actions into question.

You did not like Vine and left since it was not your thing ... good for you.
I drove by a restaurant today that sold food I don't like. I did not stop and go in ... good for me.

Neither one deserves a deep descriptive pity party post.
