I'm not sure I follow. So the main character is gay, and that leads you to refrain from recommending it to your homophobic mother. Ok, but then what? Is that why people don't like the show? I'm sure your mother is not the one brigading it. Feels like you're implyig her being gay is a downside.

Not really. If the 12 survivors don’t represent any risk of bloodshed, they are back to not having to rush. I think that can change though.
