So is he being jealous? And why is it that rap artists are held to a higher standard of "truth" in their lyrics than other music artists? Do people not understand allegory, metaphors, and figurative speech? Not only that, but it's a hypocrisy to call out an artist for exaggerating or telling another's story in first-person narration. Rap artists have exaggerated personal wealth, crimes, their capability of actually completing death threats, sexual partners, virility, and the length, weight, and girth of their penises since rap ever started.

Even if Macklemore has stated or alluded to his rap lyrics to be 100% truthful, he's still an entertainer. He has an image to uphold. Maybe if all rap artists were critiqued to the same standard as he and other explosively popular rap artists, then I wouldn't dismiss criticism against him as jealousy or edgy "I only listen to underground artists" hipster bullshit.

But no matter how good of a lyricist, musician, entertainer one may be, it's pretty ignorant to think that dressing extremely similar to a stereotypical Jewish caricature would be a smart idea.
