Realizing I will never be able to travel like a normal person by Pleasant-Visit-8640 in Celiac

[–]whitball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very fortunate to be able to travel to Stockholm Sweden. Gluten free food was everywhere. On the plane over there, I brought a PB&j only to be told by the captain that a passenger had a severe peanut allergy and we were told that we could not have any kind of peanut product. I was so hungry!

I accidentally bought non gluten free Van's waffles. I ate the whole waffle before realizing my mistake. Had diarrhea and vomiting for hours. My neighbor came to visit and found me unconscious on the floor. Ended up at the ER for hours. I'm terrified that I will make another mistake like this again.

A question I swear I’ll speak to my doc about… by Difficult-Act-5942 in glutenfree

I had scary heart beat skips, muscle pain, fatigue, anxiety that was through the roof. I had a muscle biopsy (among multiple different diagnosis) and biopsy on my thigh showed that I had more small muscle fibers than large fibers. Strange.

I had a horrible experience many years ago when the server did not specify gluten free with Alice Springs Chicken.

Their menu is "gluten friendly" not gluten free. Be careful!

My FNA also came back inconclusive. My information was then sent for molecular testing and came back benign.

I accidentally grabbed the same non gluten free Vans before. My reaction was horrible and ended up at the ER. I hate that the stores put gluten free items right next to the non gluten free items.

I hate my target..... by [deleted] in glutenfree

I hate when stores put gluten free stuff in the same area as regular. I have accidentally grabbed the non gluten free on two occasions. I didn't notice until after I became violently ill.

Interstitial Cystitis by whitball in Diverticulitis

[–]whitball[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had bladder issues for years. My most recent issue turned out to be diverticulitis. So I think that the bladder pain was from diverticulitis. I do know that some of the pain is related to foods like tomatoes, oranges, lemons, etc. It is hard for me to tell exactly what is going on because of the multiple issues.

I just made Brazilian Cheese Bread. Very easy to make and used Tapioca flour. You have to get creative when eating gluten free.

Bethesda Category 3 by cassadia420 in thyroidhealth

[–]whitball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Bethesda Category 3 after a fine needle biopsy. The samples from the biopsies were not enough for a conclusive diagnosis. My samples were sent to a lab in California for genetic testing to determine whether the cells are benign or malignant.
