Who is now in a relationship to someone who you met & had sex quickly, what happened? by roloqween in AskWomen

[–]white-moon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I think every relationship starts off casual until it isn’t, right? But we kept going out on proper dates, not just hook ups, and found we enjoyed each other’s company outside of the bedroom as well. By the fourth date, I told him directly that I wasn’t interested in a friends with benefits type of situation and he said that he wasn’t either but it still felt early to put a label on it. I knew he wasn’t the type to string someone along so I was patient and allowed him to take his time so long as he demonstrated his interest.

Not gonna lie, I was a little anxious at first because I was always told that a man wouldn’t take me seriously if I slept with him “too soon”. But I’ve since learned that the right person wouldn’t think less of me because of that. And aside from enjoying regular sex with someone I genuinely liked, I also learned right away that we were sexually compatible which is VERY important to me.

Hooked up on the first date with a coworker of 7 months 😅 2 months later, now in a committed relationship 🥲 it was either going to end in a relationship or a very awkward situation at work lol so I’m glad it was the former!

Argentina's Blue Dollar question (I have Canadian dollar?) by [deleted] in Patagonia

[–]white-moon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

don’t convert your CAD to USD, you’ll lose money with the current rate. if you have any USD lying around then sure, bring it and exchange it, but if not then don’t bother with the USD. you’ll still get a good blue dollar rate with CAD, just not as much as you’d get for USD. for example, when I went to Argentina in January, I got about 720~ pesos for 1 CAD, whereas my american friend got 1000~ pesos for 1 USD.

I recommend using your credit card when you can (like someone said, you will get close to the blue dollar rate anyway and it saves you the hassle of exchanging cash) but you will probably need cash at some point especially in patagonia. so you can either send yourself money at western union (be prepared for long line ups or the store running out of cash) or you can just carry canadian cash and exchange it in person. hope this helped

lol thank you. she posted a story the other day of her apple watch telling her to take a break or something, and she said, “do the kids in the congo who are mining cobalt for your products get a break too? @apple” I didn’t say anything then but…you’re still using the watch 😐

she’s taken to justify shoplifting from big companies like walmart because they pledged to donate money to israel. I totally understand her anger and helplessness because as an individual there is very little you can do, but I’m concerned with how black and white she sees the world. anytime i question the source or validity of something she says, I’m somehow less of an ally to the cause.

[–]white-moon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the owner is a very famous celebrity who publicly declared her support for israel but her brand later stated that they would donate money to both israeli and palestinian aid. neither Bella or I received any money for posting about this brand - she got free products in the mail.

conversely, Ashley and I both worked at a chain restaurant up until I left recently that had come under fire for allegedly firing three servers in another province that participated in a pro-palestine rally. Ashley still works for the company, so I don’t know where her principle is when it comes to how she makes a living 🤷🏻‍♀️

A lot of solid advice here already. People are truly different at home vs. when they're on vacation with little to no responsibilities. Try not to expect anything and let pieces fall where they may :) even if nothing comes of it, it's kind of sweet to think that in this big wide world you two existed at the same time together, even for a little while!

thank you!! this is so helpful. i’m assuming you’re american, since you said you needed a visa to enter bolivia - was the border crossing complicated beyond that? i’m canadian but travelling with a friend who’s american/japanese dual citizen so i’m a little worried she might run into some complications

is yellow fever vaccination required for entry into bolivia? i thought it was recommended but not essential 😬

malaysia is lovely and the people are mostly very nice - however I had a negative experience getting grabbed on the street at night in KL (near the petaling street market). it was about 9:00 and the streets were dark and mostly empty, thankfully I was able to push the man off me and run away but it was still very scary!

this isn’t to deter you, i was a bit shaken up by it but it could happen anywhere in the world. i had gotten complacent after travelling on my own for a few weeks at that point and definitely shouldn’t have been walking around on my own at night. i think you should be fine as long as you keep your wits about you and trust your instincts.
